Nice jersey! I used to have a Paul Pierce jersey. I want a Larry Bird jersey but they are hella expensive. Have you reacted to Larry Bird mixtape video? He was savage af.

the indoor walkways in Minnesota are called "skyways" and are used all around the year, but especially in winter. In Minneapolis you can work and live downtown and rarely have to go outside. The University of Minnesota Twin Cities has underground tunnel systems between buildings to serve a similar purpose.

That's because it's more south than the northern areas. However that will depend on where you are where it's less of a party zone.

I'm actually from Rochester, been watching you for years. Yes those walkways are skyways, and connect everything downtown quite well in the winter. I don't mind it here at all, especially with the twin cities nearby. The winters are definitely cold though!

Of course, where you work is a major determinant. In traditional ownership it is much more affordable to buy fix-ups and built at your leisure. Norfolk is pronounced the same way as in England. It was named after the Duke.
@theblackbear21118 күн бұрын
Yes, you got that right - there are numerous places in the "upper Midwest" that connect buildings with close walkways - so that you don't have to go outside to get from 1 building to the next during winter.

But he's thinking of Minneapolis because I remember the video he watched that featured its upper floor passageways.

Yes they pronounce Norfolk like you do 👍🏼 just without the accent 😉 Also the elevated covered walkways between buildings are usually called skywalks and yes they combine downtown areas so you can walk from building to building without going outside. Places I know they have them are in Calgary and Edmonton Canada, Spokane Washington, and Minneapolis Minnesota. Places where it snows a lot. And I mean real snow… like 3 feet or more. They probably have them in North and South Dakotahs as well. It’s truly amazing how Diverse America is. From the tropical settings of Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Virgin Islands just a short plane flight away. To subtropical paradises like California and Florida. The great plains are one of the largest expanses of prairie on earth, rivaling Mongolia. Three mountain ranges in the west, the Olympics, The Cascades, and the Rockies. The Appalachian mountains in the east. Crazy amounts of beaches. We have Tropical rainforests and Temperate rainforests. We have more rivers and lakes than we can count. We have low Desert and high Desert, and even can visit the Tundra in Alaska if we want. It is truly a blessing, this beautiful country of ours. Sure hope we don’t trash it…

OK, since not everyone is familiar with the nuances of US weather: Sioux Falls weather: "Average" high temperatures December through February are below 0 Celsius, with the record low being -34C in January (when average lows are -13C) The 3 hottest months are June, July, and August - with average highs being 28C, 29C, and 27C respectively - while record highs are 37C, 39C, and 39C. So actually, for this part of the US that's not too bad - better than I would have expected. But yeah, winters are cold there.

Norfolk, Virginia - home to the US's largest Naval Base... is pronounced close to Nawfuhk, Vahjinyah... at least that's as close as I would care to spell it. Try to imagine "Blanche Dubois" saying "I do declare!"

A little bit of history: There was an explorer by the name of Peter Provost. The city is named after it. Yeah Utah is high in altitude but at the same time... I kinda hate it. Skin cancer chances are higher. However when it comes to winter: I won't trade having the mountains in my backyard for anything. I'm not from Provo but I had been there a few times. I hated it a lot. It felt too quiet. Because it's an almost "No Party" area.

The mountains are the east side of Salt Lake City, Utah, where I was born, and used to work; in fact, the U on the mountain is next to the University of Utah. All Utah towns located next to a mountain, will have a giant white letter on it that stands for either the city or county. It's kind of surprising he didn't catch it, since Nebraska is flat.

I was born in Rochester Minnesota and lived there for the first 7 years of my life. I just remember bits and pieces, like Quarry Hill, the public outdoor swimming pool, the rec center. My favorite memory is the Christmas decorations downtown. They had really sparkly tinsel bells and buntings all above and across the street. But yes, it was brutally cold (though we did walk to school all year)

I KNEW Ann Arbor was gonna be on the list! It's easily the best place I've ever lived. Such a fantastic place for college and post-grad living. Is it expensive? Hell yeah. But there's so much to do and the wealth of opportunities through U of M make it worth it. The restaurants are fantastic, vibes are great, amazing museums, and it's a WALKABLE city plus a good bus system! GO BLUE!

Damnit, if you want great winter photography of the mountains in Provo or Salt Lake, then the cities look bleak. But, if you want great photography of the cities when they are lovely and green in the summer, the mountains don’t look as showy as they do in the winter. Can’t win for losing. Thurston never gets a good picture of our gorgeous state. 🥺

Orlando, Florida is actually not as noticed. Although it’s mostly the suburbs that are ignored. It’s really not that bad. If you avoid Orlando proper then the suburbs are worth it as you have everything you want. Although the Macdonald’s locations are limited to like two per city. I don’t know why. I have a Macdonald’s near me but another location much further away near the mall on the main road area with another in the mall itself. The one in the mall is not considered a full location. A single Walmart is in the town which is fine as a super center is just two miles over. Oddly we lost the Starbucks location but gained one in a different location. The old Starbucks is now a cookie shop. we still have target, Home Depot, Lowe’s, four or five furniture places, and a mess of restaurants. We have a crafts store and a tabletop gaming store. A couple of RC car stores are around. Just we have a lot.

Showing a mountain range while talking about Lincoln, Nebraska is an egregious editing error - there is no terrain anything like that within 200 miles of Lincoln. Those other shots - the ones with "flat" terrain - is definitely Lincoln.

There are places that can sneak up on you with quality. But it's a tricky thing, because that aura moves around and can turn bad or fake. Best policy is to find places where the nature encourages you. The rest is surface.
