Experts on law enforcement and public policy discuss the effect urban violence has on Chicago communities and methods for reducing crime among high-risk students through adjustments in law enforcement, police activity, and criminal justice. Frank Zimring, author of "The City That Became Safe," details how New York was able to drastically reduce homicides, and how this can be applied to Chicago.
Speakers include:
- Hon. Paul Biebel, Presiding Judge of the Criminal Division Circuit Court of Cook County
- Patrick Fitzgerald, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois
- Jens Ludwig, professor of social service administration, law, and public policy; director of the University of Chicago Crime Lab; and co-director of the Urban Education Lab
- Garry McCarthy, superintendent of the Chicago Police Department
- Franklin Zimring, professor of law and chair of the Criminal Justice Research Program at the University of California, Berkeley

The answer is simple. In every state that has allowed open carry and concealed carry of firearms by law abiding citizens, the crime rates have dramatically gone down, including rape, murder, armed home invasions, robberies, car jackings, etc.
