I think that look made more sense in context of the episode. They were dealing with a victim who was very isolated and started joking about Liv’s “monkette” life being similar. That look was like they were just kidding and then his expression instantly switched to concern for her cuz it was true. It looked like he went too far down that hypothetical road and scared himself 😂

@@itachistan437 I disagree. They had a great bond, but before Eli was born, he & Kathy had 4 kids, and been together since they were teenagers, they respected each other and never crossed that line. He never wanted to bring his work home to Kathy & the kids because of how dark his work was. He could be more open w/Olivia because of their work, but family meant a lot to him

@@itachistan437 maybe so but don't make it seem Kathy wasn't Elliot's love either, he absolutely loved her and was his first true love. He had love for Liv and undoubtedly considered her one of his best friends, and maybe the love situation happens now that sadly Kathy is gone, but the great thing is they never crossed the line and Liv even went helped Eliots wife and kids too.

What I loved about the two is even with them being close friends and may or may not have feelings(fans insist their in "Love") and their not perfect and had their issues, they both had respect for their respective romantic lives (with Stabler faithful to his wife and family and him respecting Benson's love life, and Benson even being there helping Stabler's wife and family) Interestingly, Chris and Mariska are close friends in real life with Mariska being the godmother of his daughter.
