A mother is convinced that her daughter has been molested by her father and it's up to the team to try and put the missing pieces together, as both the mother and father seem to be blaming the other for being at fault. Is the mother trying to provide the detectives with false allegations to get her ex locked up or are these allegations true?
Season 15, Episode 22 "Reasonable Doubt": Benson and Murphy question a television producer when he is accused of molesting his daughter. Benson strives to discover the truth, as accusations fly in the media that his ex-wife is trying to get revenge.

I thought these clips came down on both sides. I’ve never seen a girl more coached than this one. She couldn’t say hello without looking at her mom. But the maid did say they were coming out if the laundry room. Unless the mom paid the maid to say it, that’s damning evidence. It’s insane that he did that to his daughter! I thought all felons had to turn in their passports?! The son should be glad his dad wasn’t interested in him!

This episode was based on Woody Allen. The man in this episode ends up fleeing to France and gets away with it basically. He goes on camera in France and vows to never return to America. He took his young new wife with him and she also happens to be the younger sister of his ex-wife. It was never 100% clear on who was guilty but that was intentional since there’s still many people who feel that way about Woody Allen. He was accused of abusing his young daughter and another sister of the two women actually spoke up about how she was SA’d by him when they were younger. He ended up marrying their youngest sister and he took nude photos of her when she was still a minor. He 100% groomed her, that is clear. The biggest accusation was that he molested his young daughter that he had with his first wife (as shown in this clip). His current wife was completely on his side. I also should mention that he was a television producer and he turned his new wife into a successful movie star by putting her in his films. The episode is called “Reasonable Doubt” and it’s from season 15, episode 22.

For those curious, [spoilers] it’s left ambiguous as to whether or not the father molested the daughter. Testimonies flip-flopped throughout the episode and the middle sister who also accused him refused to testify (possibly because she did not want to perjure herself). The media coverage ramped up and members of the jury admitted they had seen news stories of the case, generating bias. The father, reasonably fearing he could not get a fair trial, fled the country before he could testify to his own defense. By the end of it, they decided that the justice system had failed. Either a guilty man was able to escape his sentence, or an innocent man was forced to flee his own home. The daughter might have had an abuser removed from her life or she might have just lost the only barrier between her and a narcissistic mother.

Guilty or not, the accusation was enough to find him guilty in the court of public opinion. That's what sucks- the guilty, the genuinely "you did it, here's the unrefutable proof you did it" deserve everything they get. But you have to prove it and prove it without bias. And those falsely accused need to be able to get back to their lives without consequences- The huge gray area of who did what or who didn't do what here feels all too much like real life.
@yucol5661

@@ajc-ff5cmthere is no such thing as “here’s evidence, you DEFINETLY did it” for sexual assault. Much less without bias. Thinking that unrefutable certainty is the only way modern justice should work is crazy or very ignorant of how evidence works. Not a lot is left after such crimes

It’s apparently heavily based on the case of Woody Allen. According to another commenter, a lot of people still don’t think he was guilty, but the victim has still stuck to her story after all these years, so that’s probably the reason for the ambiguous ending.
