Third one is legit, in the whole world. I live in a dangerously city so I follow it. Other good ideas include: wearing dark, inconspicuous clothes that are neither flashy or unique, walking with determination wherever you go, looking and being aware to show that you're not an easy target, but not paranoid to show that you have a valuable item, avoiding streets that are dark and/or empty, wearing running shoes to give the illusion that you WILL run/give chase if needed, and for girls (if the city is dangerous) walk in at least a group of three, or have one man with you. Be safe, everyone.

I also have a pitbull who is extremely protective of the house.
