It was something he touched everyday, all the time. Besides that, her husband was just shot & murdered by a stranger in the street, whose to say he couldn't also be robbed by a stranger in the street. A police officer I know said he lost his daughter in an accident caused by a fireman who was speeding to the scene of a fire. His daughter was killed as her car sat in traffic, waiting at a light. The firemen and emergency personnel who attended his dying daughter stole all her jewelry, which were several gold bracelets ("tuna cans" with Hawaiian words or names), gold necklaces with jewels, earrings, etc. Those are the physical tangible reminders they want to have, as they see them in their pictures of her on the mantle. Hopefully I will never find out, but I believe I would have to be peeled off any loved one's body in the event of a murder. While I feel compassion for the wife, perhaps her experience with an attorney for a husband caused her to act against instinct during this ordeal. Grabbing the wallet seems odd though - did she think someone was going to rob him?
@brucesmith15443 жыл бұрын

It's so traumatizing.. the body and mind reacts in utterly odd ways. I would say she was in complete shock and quite a bit of denial. My husband dyed slowly, painfully and so very tragically at 35 from cancer.. recently. While he lay in my living room unresponsive on hospice care, I couldn't bring myself to have the goodbye talk with him. One, because I didn't want to scare him in case he could hear me somehow.. and two because I still couldn't believe it was happening.. and I still somehow, somewhere had hope that some miracle would happen.. I felt like of I told him bye, told him all the things I needed to say.. it would seal the deal and end my hope. Now of course I so deeply regret all that I didn't say.. but at the moment, the denial was, I believe, the only option to keep me sane. Her mind hadn't even began to process that 10 mins ago they were having dinner and taking the scenic route home.. and now he was laying dead with a bullet to the face from a stranger. The adrenaline and the the shock no doubt kept her calm I would think.

The defense is doing all the objections so that if the verdict goes sideways, they can use them at the appeal. They will make the argument that if the judge allowed us to allow them, the verdict could have been different. The defense is actually doing what they can do even if a judge gets mad and/or disagrees.

Wow the minute the defence started questioning she seems to have lost all sense of memory and comprehension, she seems to have flipped from an articulate woman to one that can’t comprehend a simple sentence. There’s a LOT more to what happened that day than meets the eye, there was something in the wallet she didn’t want anyone to see and she knew that had her husband’s behaviour and drug use been questioned he would have lost his license to practice.

She's not the person on trial. Your point regarding how she should or shouldn't act is irrelevant!
@smurfmonster3 жыл бұрын
@@lov3dogs68 I think it’s very relevant. The fact she can’t behave consistently when being questioned by the defence and the prosecution and the fact that when asked the same question by both sides she remembers for one but then “can’t recall “ for the other or gives two different answers to the same question eg the reason she gave for why she drove after they’d been for a drink - she gave different replies for an innocuous question, if she adapts her answer for innocuous questions how are the jury supposed to believe her answers to the important questions? If she’s being truthful or not doing that gives the impression that she’s manipulating her evidence to suit the side that’s asking the question which can come over as being dishonest and makes me question the validity of every answer she gives which in turn weakens the prosecutions position. I agree she’s not the person on trial which is all the more reason that her answers and her manner of presentation should be consistent IF she’s being truthful.
