I recently lost my husband to cancer at 35. His wallet is one of my most important possessions. It was something he had on his body everyday, all the time. It was something he touched everyday, all the time. Besides that, her husband was just shot & murdered by a stranger in the street, whose to say he couldn't also be robbed by a stranger in the street. Implying that she didn't love her husband of two decades by she grabbed his wallet is sleezy.

Although no one has mentioned a phone yet. Maybe someone she was speaking with on her phone in the car told her to get his wallet for proof of identification. If I had witnessed a loved one die I would have problems recalling the exact words, events, or reasons for my actions. If it were a violent death I would probably block much of the event out.

A police officer I know said he lost his daughter in an accident caused by a fireman who was speeding to the scene of a fire. His daughter was killed as her car sat in traffic, waiting at a light. The firemen and emergency personnel who attended his dying daughter stole all her jewelry, which were several gold bracelets ("tuna cans" with Hawaiian words or names), gold necklaces with jewels, earrings, etc. Those are the physical tangible reminders they want to have, as they see them in their pictures of her on the mantle. With this in mind, I'd try to remember to secure personal items of a loved one to ensure nothing is lost or stolen.

This judge is so biased it’s unreal, she also seems to be going out of her way to be awkward answering the defence questions. This trial is a shambles and needs to be re tried with the judge that sat in the Chandler Halderson trial (the guy that dismembered his parents) now THAT’S how a judge should act. It's so traumatizing.. the body and mind reacts in utterly odd ways. I would say she was in complete shock and quite a bit of denial. My husband dyed slowly, painfully and so very tragically at 35 from cancer.. recently. While he lay in my living room unresponsive on hospice care, I couldn't bring myself to have the goodbye talk with him. One, because I didn't want to scare him in case he could hear me somehow.. and two because I still couldn't believe it was happening.. and I still somehow, somewhere had hope that some miracle would happen.. I felt like of I told him bye, told him all the things I needed to say.. it would seal the deal and end my hope. Now of course I so deeply regret all that I didn't say.. but at the moment, the denial was, I believe, the only option to keep me sane. Her mind hadn't even began to process that 10 mins ago they were having dinner and taking the scenic route home.. and now he was laying dead with a bullet to the face from a stranger. The adrenaline and the the shock no doubt kept her calm I would think.

@@lov3dogs68 I think it’s very relevant. The fact she can’t behave consistently when being questioned by the defence and the prosecution and the fact that when asked the same question by both sides she remembers for one but then “can’t recall “ for the other or gives two different answers to the same question eg the reason she gave for why she drove after they’d been for a drink - she gave different replies for an innocuous question, if she adapts her answer for innocuous questions how are the jury supposed to believe her answers to the important questions? If she’s being truthful or not doing that gives the impression that she’s manipulating her evidence to suit the side that’s asking the question which can come over as being dishonest and makes me question the validity of every answer she gives which in turn weakens the prosecutions position. I agree she’s not the person on trial which is all the more reason that her answers and her manner of presentation should be consistent IF she’s being truthful.

While I don’t think the wife was totally forthcoming, she and her husband were the victims. Defense is trying to make ‘words’ a huge issue. The defendant was the aggressive and violent one.

I forget if it's this one or another part of her testimony, but the defense attorney trues to reduce it to "so you wanted to hold onto his credit cards". There's a difference between trying to argue a technical wording point and what the defense is doing in cross here.

They did check his BAC, and the only witness to testify that he said the N word or had a knife in his hand is going to be the defendant who fled the scene and hid for 6 months in another state before some cops found him and he gave a false ID. Why on earth would anyone believe him? He was picked up in Kentucky and he killed this guy in Wisconsin, that is like 300 miles away.
