Credit to her neighbors for trying to do the right thing. Most people these days turn a blind eye to things like this. Having been through domestic violence in a relationship it’s so clear to see what things are from the outside, but living through it is different, you truly can’t understand until you’ve been in it. Everyone did everything they could in this situation to prevent this, and I hope they find peace in that. There was nothing more they could have done.

And the cops as well, I mean they really did EVERY single thing they could do to help her and she just wouldn’t accept it, battered woman’s syndrome is a real mental illness that doesn’t get enough attention, as a young man who used to watch his mother get beaten by all types of different men when I was far to small to stop it, makes me f*cking furious to think about any woman being beat on let alone murdered by someone who they just wanted to love and protect them💯 may she rest in peace, she seemed so sweet🙏🕊️

And that's what stories like this will continue to happen. Society gives birds the entitlement of not being held accountable for poor choices. So they continue on to make poor decisions while believing they can't be touch. Then a bird is touched, other birds say of she was "helpless, and there was nothing she else she could do .. @@Sara-xk1nsstop with the victim mentality. She is dead, because of people who make comments like yours. It’s not the bad guys responsibility to turn themselves in. A criminal is not going to prioritize someone else’s safety. Had she had people that actually did their job and help her understand that people need to be held accountable. She would be alive. No if ands or buts about it. Even if they struggled to be an acceptable couple, by being honest they may have been able to stay together and correct their destructive habits. You said it yourself, you’re trying to change. You know you’re wrong. Otherwise, why would there be a need to change? That officer was so distraught because he knew he could've impounded the car and saved them. Instead he chose to be lenient and give them another chance. Dammed if you do, damned if you don't.

You didn't watch the video nor understand why police officers separate suspects. Towards the end of the video it's stated that the couple are telling conflicted stories. And typically when that happens that means someone or all parties are lying. So the entire situation is still very questionable. The cops were right to put the pressure on them by being assertive; the girl was covering for the abuser and the abuser is being sneaky trying to appear normal when in reality he is guilty of displaying violent behavior. It doesn't help that he has a reported history of attempting to kill his own father. With abusers you have to be direct with them and put that pressure on them. Sometimes getting them mad or even firing questions at them nonstop will get them to finally slip up revealing what they are capable of or what they have done.

@@hb-ol9oc of course we knew she was lying, even she will have known that the officer knew she was lying. That isn’t the point here. This woman may have had a gun to her head just two minutes prior to this interaction and she is no doubt absolutely terrified of what the consequences may be if she tells this officer and he doesn’t play the cards right afterwards. She knows full well that telling him may put her in even further danger and so she’s not likely to tell him if she doesn’t have ALOT of assurance that he understands the situation and is willing and able to protect her.

@@hb-ol9oc yes but you clearly don’t even remotely understand the complexity of this situation. Men like this don’t care about restraining orders and so on. They are full of rage and think they own their partner. He will come for her over and over again and the more she tries to get away, the angrier he will become. This isn’t like a random car jacking or something, this woman has had probably years worth of physical threats and mental manipulation from this man. Its baffling to me that you are so unable to see beyond your own, clearly limited, experience.
