Obviously he has zero self awareness when he is the cause of every conflict in this trial. He even said to the bailiffs at one point “ain’t y’all tired to moving these boxes back and forth” when it’s HIS fault they’re having to do that because he can’t stfu and be respectful. But he wants to make it seem like the judge is somehow being difficult. He’s such an idiotic petulant pos.

The problem with Mr. Brooks is that, though he thinks he is smarter than everyone, he’s actually not, so when he comes up against actual intellect, his fragile ego has to assume they are cheating him. He has also gotten away with this type of behavior for almost 40 years, and he’s now being held accountable on a daily, even hourly, basis, and he can’t just bluff his way through it. Judge is absolutely right, Darrell is attempting to control the courtroom. He's throwing tantrums because the prosecution is allowed certain privileges that he isn't afforded when he was fully aware that excusing his state appointed defense and representing himself would come at a cost. Judge Dorow is doing a great job keeping the trial moving forward and getting serious when she needs to.

@Hello legally, you are correct. I guess I meant more that the prosecution has time, resources, and a team of paralegals and detectives who has aided in this trial. They can contact and interview witnesses, visit relevant locations, and have an entire law library at their disposal. The judge tried to warn him of what he would be missing if he went forward without legal representation.

I love that the Judge made it very clear on the record about DB right to testify/ not to testify at the end of the day. She stated Case Law that she would rely on concerning if DB refuses to answer questions that she would ask him about testifying…. She set this up knowing that he would NOT be answering her questions….she knew exactly how he would behave. The Judge was ready knowing that on Monday he would try to stall….DB was shocked that the judge moved on when he refused to answer. On Monday she clearly stated the case law again and was able to shut him down and close the evidence stage and move on to Jury instructions. Judge Dorrow clearly did her homework and did an amazing job!

"...There’s no possible way ANY court or judge will look at this and grant him an appeal..." There most certainly IS a way that an appellate court judge could, (and possibly WOULD), overturn his conviction on a technicality. THAT'S why this judge is dotting "I's" and crossing "T's". She's reducing the CHANCE that someone would even remotely find grounds to overturn a conviction, on appeal. Even with all her efforts, there is still a CHANCE it could happen, but the chance is much less

ABSOLUTELY! Reading the chat during his tantrums makes me angry at some points, seeing people misreading the situation completely and saying "This Judge has no control over her court room" or "This case needed a male Judge! This Judge has no spine" etc. Those people want a judge that will go on a ego trip like "You're not going to talk to me that way", and go off on him, hold him in contempt, limit his cross examinations, and gag him in front of the Jury. None of these would be productive. Holding him in contempt is exactly what he wants, as he wants to delay the trial. Going off on him only puts on the record that the judge was angry at him, giving some credence to the idea that she was biased against him. Liming his cross or not letting him speak out his grievances allows him to plead on appeal "I had these killer arguments that would've convinced the jury, but the Judge didn't let me finish!" (Which is why sometimes she lets him ask the "Plaintiff" questions, she wants to put on the record that his questions don't go anywhere valid, she even told him "I sometimes let you ask these questions, even though you don't know my reasons for that"). And gagging him in front of the Jury allows him to claim obvious prejudice. Sure, all of these only allow for like a 5% chance of being overturned on appeal. But she'd rather keep her ego out of the situation, in order to leave him absolutely 0% chance to appeal. The way she handled this trial, he will be laughed out of every appeals court that reads the record. She's doing the most respectful thing for the victims, by making absolutely sure that they won't have to go through a re-trial. Anyway, sorry, I had to rant about this to SOMEBODY. The chat kept making me angry!

I hate seeing people say Judge Jen is "weak" for putting up with DB. HAVING SELF-CONTROL IS NOT WEAK. She wants to see him go down as bad as the rest of us and she has the power to make or break this trial with her self-control. Most of us would have gone off on him a long time ago. She isn't going to risk a mistrial or give him grounds for an appeal. I can't wait to watch him go down. EDIT: For all the responses stating that Judge Jen IS weak and letting DB run the courtroom wasting people's time: Even if that were true, better to be safe and waste a little time, than to mess up and allow in a loophole that sets that f*ckwad free.

The reason why Brooks got so mad about Erika testifying at the time that he wasn't ready for, is because he wanted to extend the time he got to see and spend with her and that's the nature of an abuser. You can see at 1:52:36 when the judge says, "Good morning, Ms. Patterson, "he looks at her in the reflection of his monitor excited. He knew this would be the last time he would see her in person, so he wanted to savor the moment. He even took about 4 minutes before he asked the first question. Fumbling with the paperwork on his table was a clear control tactic to have Erika speak when HE was ready. He is triggered when he doesn't have control over her, and that's when he acts the worst. When her two friends came to her rescue on November 21st, he lost that control over her, and that rescue caused this man to be so ANGRY that he drove through a freaking parade. A true narcissist abuser🤨.

You are correct. I also believe the reason why he didn't want a list and have everyone come on same day with no time designation was because he wanted her to be last. Btw: don't mistake DB's arguing with the judge over badgering the witness as genuine anger over anything the judge did. He's totally lost control of his witness, he knows it, and knows he doesn't have anymore cards to play and he needs to save face over the prosecution running circles around him so he purposely picks a fight with the judge. The witness smoked him with her cross testimony: the SUV nearly hit her kid, she saw the vehicle accelerate, she saw the vehicle nearly hit an officer and she saw multiple officers try to stop the vehicle, and she saw the vehicle swerve from side to side. DB quickly needs the jury to forget all that so he orchestrates a grand spectacle sideshow to try to gloss over those inconvenient truths.

@@DaniHGirlyes ! He complained that they helped him and when the judge pointed out that they didn’t have too and if they didn’t, he would have done it himself he said “that’s not fair”. Like dude, you fired the people who would have done it. You’re your own lawyer, you’re expected to do the same exact things a practicing lawyer would have done, it so fair. I think the only reason they helped him at all with anything is so that there’s less than nothing to appeal on. He can’t appeal on anything lawyer related anyway like “ineffective assistance of counsel” but now he can’t even say that he was “railroaded” by the prosecution because they did everything to help assist him and even prevent info from being brought up from the witnesses based on his own questions.

He says, “what about me? What about my life?” After he killed six people and injured many others. The only sympathy he has is for himself. Secondarily, he said his mom would come if he told her to, in such a way that made it seem like she obeys him. Not just like a normal mother doing all she can for her kid, but as though he is her boss. That probably didn’t help him learn his place in social settings as he was growing up. He should be ashamed, but he seems extremely proud of himself, ironically. The Bible he keeps picking up and pretending to read is a complete show. It’s like he’s mocking God or using it to pretend he’s someone he doesn’t actually seem to be.

Yes, yes and yes! And right after he does his Me Myself and I trip he turns around and interrogates with disregard the mother of four children all of whom were injured at that parade! Unbelievable. He sits there posing as if he's reading the Bible, then he's not ready and has to 'take a moment'... or 5, while the witness just sits there on the stand! (An intimidation technique IMO) It's disgusting to watch but I'm glad he's doing it. He's making it quite clear who DB is and what he's all about.
