I'd say the reason this is becoming more prevalent is because of the way this sort of thing is being viewed. Back in the 80's or 90's, if you were a 15 year old boy that hooked up with a 'hot' teacher, you'd be seen as the man! But if you felt violated, you wouldn't come forward, because your peers would think you're some kind of wuss and laugh at you. So on top of feeling violated, you'd be ridiculed, so just bury the pain. These days, people are more accepting that hey, this sort of thing can have negative impacts and it's not this amazing experience it was once thought to be.

@scottcharney1091 it's more than just being pervs. It's almost become normalized because we have movies or tv shows glamorizing these type of situations. My point is even lets say the student has a crush on a teacher and is flirty with the teacher, the teacher needs to learn some control and say no and shut it down. We have younger teachers now in their early 20s and horny teens being around them. Social media doesn't help either. Also schools try to keep things hush hush nowadays. When things happen the schools don't even want to notify the parent/parents anymore.
@TgogatorsКүн бұрын

@@scottcharney1091 yeah but I also think there is more to it. We have much younger teachers hanging around thirsty teens these days. Teachers need to learn some self control and to say NO if a student is flirting. Social media has also made things worse because now its easier to contact someone.

I have always wanted to comment on this subject because I sort of lived it. I was a 16yo in 1980 and had a 28 yo teacher that I had impure thoughts about. So being an ignorant teen boy , I did my best to tempt her. It took 8 months to finally see that I was getting to her. From May until October of 1980, I received an education. I didn't look at it as being unlawful on her side, even though she did press it a couple of times that I wasn't into it. ( Had other plans for the weekend but caved to the offer) So I question these stories. I need more information before I form my opinion of her or many of the other female teachers in her situation. I hold absolutely no ill will towards my teacher.

Just a few minutes into the video, the guest discusses how much psychological harm this causes. Boys who go through this often have longstanding problems forming healthy relationships, boundaries, consent, trust, etc. They get older, see children of the age they were when it happened, and it's even more disturbing. This is a terrible thing. If you think that it's so great, do you think that it should be legal?

For extracurricular activities the students participate in, parents should be directly contacted, not students, cause the parents are responsible of knowing where their kids are at all times, especially after school hours. No other adult besides parents should be talking to kids through their phone.
