Alex Murdaugh’s Lawyer Grills Expert Who Refuted Two Shooters Theory

Alex Murdaugh’s attorney, Jim Griffin, cross-examined the state’s last key witness about his expert opinion on the defense’s theory that two shorter shooters could have been involved in the murders of Maggie and Paul. Dr. Kenneth Kinsey, a crime scene investigator, stood firm in his testimony and offered additional explanations as to why he believes the theory is not sound.

@@andreichira7518 I don't know if you wish to make this into an argument but, if you go to the video starting at 4:50, Dr. Kinsey explains it very well. He is talking about math (geometry) and the infinite variables that exist when trying to calculate the path of a bullet or shotgun shell. There were many moving parts which makes it impossible to calculate every possibility of where the shooter (Alex) was and where the victim (Paul) was. In general, there are enough facts to know where Paul was and where Alex was when he shot him. If everything is static, then an accurate outcome is predictable or known. I don't know what you may believe or disagree with that makes it difficult to understand or not true.

"I counted 150 or so pellets several times and kept messing up, so I just agreed with the literature." 10 seconds later: "I seen the x-rays, I didn't sit and count the pellets in Paul, but I'll take the pathologists word for it." How did he count the pellets several times and get close to 150 if he didn't bother counting the pellets on the x-rays? He lied. That simple. It's fine though. We all know that most of the public is biased against AM.

Dr.Kinsey was the best witness I have heard in this trial , honest , professional, and very knowledgeable with all the questions he was asked by the defense Lawyer Mr.Griffin. However I found it that the defense were drawing at straws , because they were trying really hard to try to change his answers , but he was not giving in. And by asking how much he was getting paid it was a real cheap shot , I was very surprised how little he was charging compared to the other experts they had on . He did an amazing job too bad the defense didn’t do a better job on their part.

Well established there many guns around. It was a hunting property. Once you decide to kill, easier to use two guns than to reload shotgun. Had Paul hemmed up in feed room. Can’t miss but then you switch rather than fumbling around with reloading.

I thought he was a totally rude and disrespectful witness. Laughing and giggling throughout, and at extremely inappropriate times, like while explaining about Paul’s murder, and how his skull, brain and bodily tissue had flown up to ceiling and obviously back down. He also wasn’t 100% competent. He didn’t see that slug in the doorway. That was extremely easy to see, especially when he’s gone to the scene to reenact the crime, or to verify what exactly happened. Yes no, I didn’t think he was that great at all

The jury's trip to Mosell will backfire on Defense. The remote, isolated environment will highlight to impossibility of a stranger lurking close enough to kennels to kill those victims within the tight timeline. Plus the dogs would have alerted family to the presence of an intruder in the woods or within the adjacent buildings when they, the dogs, were running all over the place chasing chickens just minutes before the murders.

You don't know what your currently guessing at. Dogs just are not predictable except for taking a pee or chasing moving things with potential intrusion to their vicinity of eating and sleeping. Had the dogs been out in a field that would be different about noticing intruders like humans ... At the least any arranged killing out there is deliberately targeting thoes residents.. from the absence of the dogs busting anyones hide , the key to success in this potentially planned crime is something about making it look like this was Alex , so much of the highlights of suspicion are complex behaviour ability to mimic or disguise a crime within.. so something like people who have been accessing the property with consent ( hypothetically a worker like a gardener being recruited by a person or persons getting this crime organised, inside knowledge) Friends decisive trickery is clearly what that group of people are all like , steeling from each other all over the place, bank assisted.. having a friend turn enemy loitering around to make the most excruciating possible retaliation by killing family, leaving an orphan essentially once n Buster and torturing Alex with imprisonment and misplaced guilty association... The elder murdaugha put many many people to death , not all of them were safe bets - aggressive behaviour retaliation reactive to something old handsome did is not off these matters with the old guy possibly the other target that night but he went back into hospital and died in the days following.. to imagine the amount of cases where the solicitor was able to take the defendant to the cleaners and the rage in families feeling this is honour to retaliate for ..as the chips were down to kick in deeper making dust from damaged goods is just fine float away longer sticking mud in wait.. haste is something like getting mud in one's face ... Alex caused something but not sure we know what that is

Griffin is ignoring the fact that there are cases where killers use multiple weapons to try to confuse the investigators and make them think that there is more than one shooter. Also, someone going to kill multiple people might want a second gun in case the first one jams. Finally, who else knew that Maggie and Paul were not only at Mozelle, but at the kennels, and then who lied about being at the kennels until he couldn't. Maggie doesn't make sense as a target for revenge, and it was two years after the boating accident. If anything, Alex would have been the target. He tried to frame Connor Cook and cheated vulnerable people out of money. Why would shooters not go to the house first, as Alex was the only one known to stay there regularly? He's the only one they know would likely be there.

1 ) His wife was going to divorce him, he would lose (money) in a settlement. 2 ) His son had a possible financially devastating law suit coming up that could cost 30-40 million USD. He loves money more than his family. Add all of the other financial thefts and deception, led him to make a fatal choice regarding his wife and son, they had become dispensable liabilities. Sad choice. 3 ) His wife and son confronted / maybe threatened him about “the pills”. Overall, his life was imploding and he lashed out.

Exactly. I’d like to add that he probably told his wife to deal with Paul and his troubles through the years. He probably felt that she didn’t do the job she was supposed to. She stayed home to raise the children and he probably blames her for it, so she was punished with Paul. My 2 cents anyway!

It’s crazy that an experienced attorney murdered his wife and son and THEN 1. Thought deleting text messages from his phone made them impossible to find by law enforcement 2. Didn’t realize his Suburban recorded everything he did 3. Lied about things there was no way he could back up 4. Hired lawyers that seem totally incompetent and stumbled thru cross examinations

I have spent way too much time reading and watching this case and I literally find it difficult to sleep due to the eeriness of it all. I can't even imagine how he can close his eyes and sleep after SEEING the aftermath and carnage of what he did to his wife and HIS SON! Not to discount Maggie because it is just awful, but it is absolutely inconceivable to think of HOW does a parent to kill their own child?

This guy was the star witness of this trial. Well him and Money Mark Tinsley!! He absolutely broke it all down brilliantly based on the FACTS. But also explained exactly how it's impossible to get accurate trajectory or "height of shooter" and totally blowing up that middle schooler assailant theory lol. Funny they question what he was getting paid and there experts were being paid double/ triple that to do exactly what they did and come up with some crazy implausible theory that they can try to somewhat make fit with the evidence and this man wasn't having any of that. Gotta love how Jim Griffen was bringing up stuff he knew nothing about and looked like a fool!
