Wow, Alex is almost telling the truth here. "After Maggie asked me to leave, I got into the golf cart". HE SLIPPED. They got into a fight at the house, she asked him to leave, then Maggie and Paul went to kennels to get out of a tense situation, and Alex followed soon after in his golf cart, got the bird from the dog's mouth, and then "did what he did" (his words) and got out of there quick. This is why forensics thinks the shooter was shorter, because Alex was sitting down. And in the golf cart, he could prop 2 guns up in front of him inside the cart, and easy access to both weapons. Then he went back up to the house and started texting Maggie that he was going to his Mom's house. But he didn't tell Maggie that when he was down there at the kennels?? How is anyone buying this? I lived with survivors remorse for years because I normally drove him home if he was drinking, that night I felt ill and went home.. but before it happened it was just another day, nothing out of ordinary and I struggled to remember certain things about that night. My point is unless you know in advance something bad is gonna happen it’s not a guarantee we remember every little thing or conversation. I read an account that said Magi asked 3 different people if she should meet Alex that night. She did not want to go and said Alex was acting fishy and that he was up to something. Her understanding was not that she was going home to go to dog kennrls that night but that she was going home to see Alex's father who was very ill. She said Alex told her he had pnemonia and it was very serious. She thought she was going to see a dying man. I wonder why this was not brought up at all about how he actually lured Magi back that night? She would never have driven all that way to go to a dog kennel that night. She had wanted to stay at the beach house and continue her work there getting ready for a July 4 party. Alex lured her home and the 3 people she checked with about whether she should tell Alex she would come home that night (as he requested) should havr verified the true reason why she went back there and verify that Alex did indeed lure Magi back using his sick father as the bait.

21:16 💥 That's a clincher right there, not sure if Alex caught onto where the prosecutor was going with the questioning about the dogs. Anyone who has ever had a dog(s) knows thar IF a strange person is near the property or their people they will act different, sometimes dogs will act straight up CRAZY & out of character. Dogs are very reliant on their senses to guide them and their owner(s) away from any possible danger. Keep in mind Alex had numerous dogs, many of them labs, hunting dogs, fetch dogs, etc.. dogs that are very intuitive to their surroundings (including sights, smells, sounds, temperatures, etc...).

Mr Waters and every lawyer who participated in this trial on either side were extremely annoying; from the phrasing of questions by making statements such as "So, you'd agree with me if I said..." were all designed to trap witnesses into saying something they didn't mean or that would be taken out of context or the wrong way. The repetitiveness of their questioning was uneccessary and they did it themselves without prompting from Alex plenty of times and it was done simply because they themselves were stumbling and ineffective. It was a show trial and not a very good one. I don't know if Alex was the killer or not; he could have been although it makes no sense for him to have done it, but had he better defense attorneys he would have been found not guilty. The evidence was lousy, the investigation shoddy and the 'expert witnesses', laughable~!

This is a case of the "vanishing perpetrator" He never demanded to know who gunned down his family. He never exclaimed "who would do this we need to find them!" He never said to the Police "Stop looking at me and figure out who killed my family!" He never feared for his life standing out there in the dark after seeing his wife and son gunned down, and he NEVER feared for Busters safety by calling him to ask if he was okay, or to tell him to get to safety. I find that hands down the most telling aspect of his guilt. Often times, you can learn a lot from what people in these situations DON'T say. As much as Alex talked, he sure didn't say a lot. Plus, he lied about being at the kennels. No innocent person would do that.
@syzygyfarm Жыл бұрын
Definitely agree. I imagine I would have said something to the effect of, "I was just down here with them," while speaking to the 911 operator. Even in shock, you'd relay information like that. You'd recall the last time you actually saw them alive. You'd hope this helps narrow down a timeframe so investigators can use it to find the culprit. I think it hurts his credibility greatly to have continued to lie up until taking the stand. The only time I can see something like this being "okay" is in the case of someone who could become the scapegoat for poor police work. AM had a good record, wealth, connections, and all the privilege of a cis, white male. He had no reason to lie out of fear, etc.. so what's the excuse? Why try to distance himself if he wasn't involved in something illegal? Seems suspect to me.

besides the sheer amount of lies leading up to and after the murders what's the probability of someone coming onto your large property in the dead of night and murdering two people at the kennels within a brief period that he decides to not be there . very unlikely. and the fact he was trying to hold up under interrogation even over mere minutes as to how long he was down at the kennels. He definitely did it. from what i gather though from the testimonies of his family and the caretaker at his mothers i don't know wether it was planned well in advance I think he had been contemplating and went through with it when a moment was created. because honestly you couldn't think of a worse set up and the fact he tried to bribe the caretaker at his mothers that she didn't see him he was trying to stash weapons and having his brother manufacturer the weapons for his sons to then use them on the wife and son and think it would not lead back to him, surely with the amount of money and connections through drugs he could have got a weapon that would have been more difficult to trace

Can someone please explain to me, why would Alex feel the need to lie about going down to the kennel before he left? If he wasn’t the murderer, and only just happened upon the scene, he wouldn’t have knowledge as to when those murders took place. Could have been 5 mins after he left or 5 minutes before he came back home. There’s a huge window of time in between. The only explanation for him lying about him being down there earlier, was because he knew they were murdered before he left, and he didn’t want to put himself anywhere down there in that time frame. Only the murderer would need to lie about this. Case closed!! This man is a pathological liar, thief, and murderer.

For me, the little things tell the biggest story. At @1:18:40 he basically slips and admits it right there and it's so quick that nobody even catches it. The way he says "me giving the times was always based on the thought that On-star is out there (going to produce actual records)".. He's basically saying "when I thought this through, of course I knew my timeline would have to match up with the On-star data". Someone who's not guilty doesn't think this! If they do, it's more along the lines of "omg what if the data is skewed, doesn't match up with the real timeline and makes me seem guilty??". He's not thinking that. He's thinking "for this to sound real, it needs to match up with this". Obviously we all know he did it by the physical evidence but things like this really remove any doubt. At least for me.

His never having details about his recollections and always mentioning technical data Mr. Waters bring up tells me his motive is not telling the truth, but not being caught in another lie. If AM would have wanted a real killer found, he would have never lied to the police. Your family is shot to death…you could care less about how it looks for you. He would have been afraid and overwhelmed with shock. His memory of every detail would be ingrained in his mind due to the emotions from that day. The timeline, phone and OnStar data, his behavior all confirms his guilt to me. This is not the result of him being an innocent man. I hope the jury can see through him, but you never know. I would have never dreamed Casey Anthony would get away with her daughter’s murder. Selfish people consider family expendable.
@ashleymcmeakin8590 Жыл бұрын
I'm so glad you mentioned Casey Anthony. I feel these cases are so similar in so many regards. It was obvious that Casey did something very sinister to her daughter and that she was a liar. It's obvious Alex is a horrible lying thieving jerk. The trial against Casey was ALL about how she lied, partied and scandal after scandal, but absolutely nothing presented that was proof she murdered that poor baby and I feel like this trial is going down the same path. It's all about how they can prove 100% he lied, stole and was a bad guy, but they don't have that 100% proof he murdered them and they're presenting the case as if he was on trial for being a thief and he's not. Legally speaking, I don't know how anyone could come to a guilty verdict with the evidence they presented so far. There's not even a motive. I have the unpopular opinion being that I do not believe he is guilty, but regardless, I don't like how this is unfolding. I don't agree that if he wanted the real killer to be found he wouldn't have lied. Not necessarily, imo, he was a lawyer himself and comes from a very legal background from birth so he knew any time a wife is murdered, the significant other is always the #1 suspect no matter what. He was trying to make sure there was no implications his way so that they didn't jump on that bandwagon and miss the opportunity looking for real killer.

He repeatedly says he just "got out of there" and he "would have said something, would have said something to them" but cannot remember exactly what he said to them. This phrasing of "would have" is his conscience letting him down because the situation did not actually happen like that. If it had happened as innocently as he claims, he would answer the question with "I said" or "I believe I said" or something like that. Not "I would have said." When you say "I would have" what your conscience is revealing is that it didn't really happen that way and you're making up the situation.
