There have been far too many rude comments blaming Tristyn for her own murder and her parents for not knowing she'd snuck out (which is the whole point of *sneaking* out: your parents hopefully don't find out). Truly the bravest and most broken people I’ve ever witnessed in my life. To be destroyed inside and traumatized.. but show up and absolutely DELIVER for their baby sister; she is looking down so proud. The way they speak of their family, the way they mourn the loss of each other as well as their baby sis.. they hurt for one another and they love one another so strongly. Even in this incredible loss, they articulate and they captivate the court room. Each one of them has a light within that is so bright and so pure, that even in absolute darkness it will never be put out. It’s so moving. I’m in tears. I am praying for the whole family. RIP angel

That was so beautifully said. I don't know how I came across this today, or why I kept watching it all. But, after watching these three siblings speak so eloquently about their love and their unimaginable grief, I feel I'm a better person for having seen this today. It was almost a religious experience. It was like going to Easter mass and coming out of a great therapy session at the same time. My heart is broken for this beautiful family, but somehow I feel inspired and renewed....and I want to be a better person.

What strength you showed Alexis. That was an amazingly perfect A+ impact statement. The aqua stones that are the color of your sister's aqua urn. Brilliantly impactful. You alone just sealed a life sentence. Your sibling's statements were the exclamation points. Your parents should be extremely proud of all of you. And hopefully, once the killer is thrown in prison, you can all move forward and help each other exist. It will be impossible to fully recover, but take solace in knowing you did everything you could do for your little sister in court, assuring the judge will not be showing one ounce of mercy.

Oh my heart sank when I realized what she was doing. How awful. I lost a loved one to a similar act of violence, she was stabbed to death, and to be honest I'm glad it didn't happen these days cause it probably would have gotten more news coverage. I was 14 and I've blocked a lot of the direct aftermath out, and these days I can't remember if I was ever told how many times she was stabbed, but I'm glad I don't remember if I ever knew. I know it was a lot of times but not 114 times times. That's just so... Monstrous. I know this haunts her and the rest of her family, I know she's thought about those 114 stabs more than she wants and probably will continue to think about them more than she'd like for a long time. I hope Tristyn's family finds healing and eventually peace, mine never really did.
