Dredd never took the helmet off the whole time, and that is one thing I appreciate immensely in the remake Dredd movie. Any time an actor has to wear a mask for their role they ALWAYS take it off about half the damn time in the movie, no doubt because they want to make sure we all see their face rather than just assume the role they're supposed to be playing. Props to Karl Urban for that in the remake. As much as i like Sly Stallone, just wish he didn't remove the helmet in this Dredd movie.

Something always bothered me about this and I just realized what it is. Dredd sets his gun to "double whammy" and offs two bad guys with a very distinct high pitched zing sound. Then, when he kills the guy he just judged, the sound is back to the standard "just firing normal shots sound." Problem is he never set it back to standard fire. If it takes voice commands, shouldn't he have to have done that or it would have still been in double whammy mode. You could say that it has back up switches or something but Dredd never mentioned that when training the new recruits, or used the switches when there was a lot of gunfire which could have obscured the sound of his voice. Now nothing makes sense any more.
@DorianMichaelsIII8 жыл бұрын
+cugamer I always assumed that it defaulted back to 'standard fire' after every 'special' bullet fired-- example, that seems to be the case in Dredd 2012; just like here, you never see Dredd (OR Anderson, OR Judge Lex) set their Lawgivers back to standard fire after shooting a specialist round (though I admit, there IS a hole in that theory, when Dredd yells 'Stun!' *once* and shoots those *two* kids trying to stick him up; there are two of them, and Dredd hits *each* of them with a stun round; by my logic, Dredd should have called out 'stun' *twice*, else he would've stunned the first kid, and served the second one a real bullet. Maybe its a mix of what we each have said-- voice command to select the specialized bullet, but some sort of selector switch on the Lawgiver to flip it back to regular bullets, to prevent the gun from expending its specialized rounds on targets that don't need it; for example-- with those kids; Dredd could've called out 'Stun', tased those two with the stun rounds, then hit the switch to switch back to regular bullets (had he NOT done so, he probably would've continued firing stun rounds until he expended the Lawgiver's ammo supply of them-- NOT exactly a good idea with people who were shooting live ammo back at Dredd).

Hmm... watching this clip now I see a couple problems. 1) The choice of armor piercing was silly: "Gun, give me armor piercing so I can show off by shooting this jackass through his gun." 2) The last mode selected before the execution at the end was "double whammy," but the firing sound during the execution was of a normal round.
@Brutalyte6167 жыл бұрын
starsiegeplayer Two problems with that. The first is that before he starts listing off the last guy's offenses, you hear the gun power down, probably switching back to its standard firing mode. The second issue is that the muzzle flash takes up the entire front of the gun and we don't see the results of the shot itself before we go on to another scene, so even if it was two shots, we wouldn't be able to tell. You're completely right about the armor piercing thing though. The ONLY excuse I can come up for that is he was playing it safe by going for an easy torso shot and was compensating for the possibility that the weapon would block the shot.
