Lawl Nova Update Patch 2: The Veterans

Welcome to Update Patch 2: The Veterans! In this video, I’ll buff, nerf and alter the moves of all of the Lawl Nova characters that were already changed in Update Patch one, from Dr. Doofenshmirtz to Samuel L. Jackson. Hope you have fun!

I absolutely adore what you did for so many of Novas classics and veterans, Skap. From much needed updates to sprites like Vince, to making the mechanics and play styles like Star & Elsa much more practical while faithful. You also seriously make me want to actually try or think about tryin characters like Dipper and Worst Herc. I'm proud of you for how far you've matured and learned as a Lawler, proud of our friends for helping you out on this massive undertaking, and proud of everyone who chipped in with their useful critiques and ideas, the main Cheeseman himself especially. I had an unbelievable amount of fun watching these familiar faces shine brighter than before, and I'm certain I will as I both rewatch this more than impressive project, and as they continue to show up and kick ass in future Nova videos to come. The future looks all the more warm and uplifting by your side, dear. Hope you don't mind if I stick around for the long haul

Thanks for adding the timestamps! Really appreciated. Of course, I am very glad you enjoyed all the updates not just in terms of visuals but also mechanical. Vince, Dipper, Elsa and Worst Hercules were some of my favorite characters in terms of results (just check the thumbnail, they are all there!) so I am glad you mentioned them all

These updates were well the worth the wait! I like how Elsa has things from Frozen II implemented into her set and that her ice powers are put to much better use so that her opponents have a harder time approaching and attacking her. What I liked even more was seeing Worst Hercules become more useful in combat, since his moves have a lot more use to him, and his FS has a much better payoff to it since opponents can't escape it. I also liked how the rock was turned into a reflector type move to make the move a combo starter and how the jab acted as a counter move.

This has to be one of the best Update Patches I've seen yet! It's just so satisfying to see old characters finally get the tools they need to fit in with the rest of the cast. From Captain N's more accessible battery options, to Vince's much cooler Side B, to Dipper's waaay more useful flashlight, to Worst Herc getting a not-shit moveset, I could go on and on... My favorite set of changes however were the multitude of buffs you gave to Elsa! All of her special have been so perfectly reworked to the point where I can see myself maining her! Her new Up B, Ice Pillar, is a brilliant way to represent the sequel (which i still need to watch some time), the Down B has been toned down to work more like an actual move instead of a full on character, and the Neutral B finally gives her a good projectile!! I'm so excited for the Classic Mode, I can't wait to find out who the heck Joel's rival could be! But do take your time, I definitely know that it will take quite a while to work on.

I knew you would really enjoy Elsa's buffs here! I know you are a big fan of the movie so having her the way she was is just unacceptable. Thanks to the 2nd movie and making things more according to my current views on Lawl making, Elsa is now as good as I wanted her to be from the very beginning. As for Joel's rival, ohhhh boy it's gonna be a great one

You know, for a video based on the fact that you make mistakes, I must say, this is near flawless, and it's very satisfying every time I can say "Hey, I suggested that!" Happy I could catch it on the day of its release this time! I appreciate you making characters more accurate to their original sources, such as DK's Final Smash, I appreciate you making attacks more reliable for use against everyone, such as Jade's Side B and Doof's Down B, and I appreciate you taking the time to state that Captain N is now more similar to Mike Vincent, but I'm not changing my PFP.

Ok there is just way to much to say here! Every single last patch (for both the new and old characters) made them feel more fitting in a smash bros setting and similar to Mad's update patch when I came to characters like doof,I was surprised you didn't replace some moves but changed them to still make them work! My favorite patches were star's and captain N's. Mainly because I always felt stars neutral b was extemely slow and seeing it sped up (with the newly added meter for it) is sweet! For captain N it's great to see that you can swap inbetween only using his friends,and playing as him normally! Also SHIELD SPEICAL!!! Seriously that kind of thing is something I haven't seen before and I always wondered a way of how you could recharge the battery but I was not expecting THAT! My only complaint is that jade's side b shouldn't pretty much instakill at 0% but other than that this was amazing and worth the wait!! Can't wait for the double classic mode!

Shield Special was surprisingly something I already showed in the previous patch with Zack & Tetris, but I do agree it's uncommon and we need more of them! Also regarding Jade, I feel the amount of time you need to charge it up and how easy it is to dodge compensates for its strength. I think it's comparable to Roy or Chrom's Neutral Bs.

Congrats on getting this video out there, this was a really good one, and I'm glad to see that a couple of my suggestions made it into the video. Hope production of Joel and Timmy's Dad's classic mode goes smoothly. Also, seeing the change to Sheldon's Up B got a laugh out of me.

I really like your Lawl vids! You put a lot of detail into fixing the characters' moves! BTW, I'd like to imagine another addition. What if Worst Hercules misses with his Final Smash, not only does he damage himself in the struggle, but after he does his victory pose, he falls over and hits the ground!

Now this was amazing! I loved every single change in this direct, especially for characters I considered low tier like Elsa (that Frozen 2 reference was great) and Vince Offer. Also I liked how Worst Herc has been reworked and isn't a joke character anymore! The risk-rewarder playstyle is very fitting for a character coming from a crappy movie and company. And man, Captain N changes were my favorite! Especially since now you can choose between battery gimmick or N-Team Gimmick, which is personally a nice addition for players who want a more simple character to play as. And at last, that Metal head patch was also pretty good, loved the new buffs and changes! Hyped for the Classic mode with Joel and Timmy's dad!

*Now Lawl Nova is balanced, as all things should be* That's a lot of detail and effort put into these patches. All characters still remain true to their source material, and many of the characters are even updated to current times in the case of Elsa. By far my favorite update has to be Captain N's, now picking him up and potentially playing as him will feel much more satisfactory and recharging the batteries won't feel slow anymore. I also love how all the characters have their very own playstyle description from the get go, giving them their own identity. If there's a vídeo for a new viewer to recommend Lawl Nova to, it would be this one, so then said viewer would pick his/her favorite.

I think Worst Hercules’ neutral b should be slightly changed when there’s a solid platform, io would land on it and if he needs to be used again, herc would run up to him, but not automatically.

First of all, it's reliving to see that the playstyle descriptions haven't been dropped despite the rename so it's fun to know which parts of the sources are referenced without feeling too forced. Funny how John, "Guy" and Perry are like the 3 most straight forward to explain characters in a row. I find the main meat of this patch is the removal of most of the situational mechanics so the gameplay is now more solid. I like how '60's Batman's tag team origin is described and I always liked Spidey's moveset the point where all his moves are my favourite from him. And characters like Dipper, Bipper and Vince must have taken a lot of careful thinking to change (Gravity Falls was genius btw)! As for Risk Reward Hercules, my favourite changes are the new grab system without entirely removing the stalling part, Io becoming an ally who follows you and Worst Sword being a counter but still a stance if badly timed. Glad Captain N's batteries no longer have a Fire Flower as the only thing to restore them all. CD-I Zelda's updates and playstyle make me curious on how a modern CD-I Link moveset could compare with her's. Hopefully the Metal Head robot is fixed and more importantly, Doof will always be green. About Marshmallow though, maybe you can someday show off boss battles without the stress of planning a story mode. Fingers crossed Timmy's Dad will at long last meet (dunno if accurate predictions count as spoilers but the rival codename was ducks).

Hey there just an idea I still feel like kronks sown b is really useless so instead let’s replace it he throws his spinnage puffs on a plate forward if it hits players it will get stuck to there face until they mash to get it off if it lands on the ground it has a 50 50 chance of becoming a healing item or a slip trap
