Lawl Nova's Update Patch

With time, I've come to realize that my movesets aren't flawless, as some of them include certain mechanics and elements that could be either improved on or weakened for a more balanced game. In this video, I'll go over all of the characters from my Lawl Spin Off and make any change needed. Some of them were my own ideas while others were pointed out by the audience on an announcement I made a while ago.

I'm glad you actually went back and decided to balance your entire Lawl. Honestly, this entire video was pretty fun. It was nice to see how some of the old characters got fixed up, and the balancing decisions made were all pretty good. This definitely would make more characters hypothetically fun to play as. And the animation bump looked incredible, by the way. I'm excited to see full battles looking like that. I'm glad that the man, the myth, the meme asdfguy got buffed, though.

Forgot to comment on this when I first watched it. This is probably my new favorite Lawl Nova video Skap. The improved animation, the nostalgic feeling of seeing all of these old characters with reimagined moves and concepts, the concepts themselves, it's all so perfect. You've well outdone yourself my boy and I can't wait to see what happens for the future of this series. Also, classic mode for WAAAAAAAAAAA is hype as fuck right now

My only problem with this is that it has became your most Pause2Read video. Dude, even if the video last for 30 minutes, let us read it! Because it is a great improvement to all of the characters (except for the jokes of course), and has a fantastic animation, with finally the KO Explosion and even a more fluid animation. Hoping -Best- Toon Waluigi Classic Mode doesn't disappoint neither!

Skap this was such a fun and new video. The attention to details in making the characters more viable definitely makes Nova feel more realistic. That combined with the constantly improving animation (it looks so much smoother) really shows how times have changed with some of these moves being reanimated after so long. This was a load of fun to watch, and I'm excited to see these changes in action in WAA's Classic mode!Also, I'm always happy to help with the new Zelda idle, and thanks for the cameo with the updated asdfLand! I like this video because it shows how the characters can be used properly without spammy or backfiring moves. Primarily I like how Vince's Slap Chop isn't as OP as it used to be, since it only heals a specific amount of damage rather than your whole health, and how 60's Spider-Man's Up B is a true recovery move so that the move isn't useless in the air. The animation looks more fluid, and I like how you are making the characters more closer to SSB in terms of their playstyles. Still, this was well worth the wait, and I can't wait for Best Waluigi's Classic Mode!

It's amazing that the patches aren't really that outlandish or change the moveset too much. That demonstrates how well they hold up, I can't wait to play as these in Demic's game.

It's nice to see Lawl more realistically by updating the older movesets in case these characters ever join the Lawl fangame someday. I enjoyed watching the Final Smash updates the most along with the option to skip cutscenes so battles don't have to be interrupted as much. If I can name one thing that bothered me, it's the many times I had to Pause2Read, especially since this video covers a lot of specific details. Overall though, I enjoyed this new way of seeing Lawl Nova and as a result, I have even higher hopes for WAAASSIC mode than before. (I don't know about considering patches like this for my movesets but if anyone has any ideas go ahead, ask.)

Excellent job on this update patch, mate. Truth be told, it was hard to point out flaws in Lawl Nova, seeing how it has so much variety and balance amongst its roster, that i didn't realize how necessary some of these changes were to make the characters competent in battle, but now that i did, i can definitely understand that they were (like for example, the Narwhaal launch or changing the name from Best to Toon Waluigi.) Still, i find this video is a good example on how to keep your Lawl movesets balanced and competent at the same time. Add to the fact that the animation is getting more fluid by the minute and we can see how truly far Nova has come over the years, which reminds me why i'm still a fan.

Pretty interesting updates. I personally like the changes to Sheldon's Final Smash, Toon Guybrush's Netural B, 60's Spidey's Up B, asdfguy's Down B, and the no changes to Toon DK (cause that moveset is already perfect). Sorry I didn't make any suggestions for this cause... I honestly wouldn't know what to put down, I'm no game director. :P Can't wait to Best... I mean TOON Waluigi take on Classic Mode! :)

Was Potion Throw by chance inspired by Alessi's "Ushi Ushi Ushi" move in Heritage for the Future? Because I realized it works very similar to it. That being that the move changes the opponent into a weaker form with a limited moveset for a few seconds (with the exception of Joseph, who humorously turns into "Battle Tendency" Joseph, which you normally can't play as without inputting an operator's code first).

Another change for patch 2 is to up up the countdown from 5 to 6, the aiming the narwhal should be back 2. The lines “Waluigi likes this” and “Waluigi hates this” should be slowed down a little to 0.5 speed.

I think that another change you should make to Doofinshmirtz is to make the Down B able to affect the female characters. The way you have it now puts CD-I Zelda, Elsa, Yzma, Star Butterfly, and Jade Harley at a clear advantage over Doof. Maybe it could be slightly less effective for them or something.

You could give ASDF guy a few buffs and nerfs. Heres my choices : *If he pukes a clone then the clone instantly runs torwards anybody in sight and has a small jump to get back up. While this might sound good its actually a nerf. The clone can now attack ASDF guy and it has a health meter. Meaning that you could easily spam a Nair to kill the clone. You also could easily grab the clone and throw it off stage.* *His final smash now acts like Shieks. Meaning you could get opponents easier and also get multiple on the way. However you will need to get someone or you will look like a fool.* *The bomb can now be spammed. Meaning you could have multiple bombs on the screen. The max limit of bombs is 3.* *Sometimes the cats will stay on the stage after being puked. You can throw them if you want to. They act like a Bee Hive meaning you will get swarmed with claws.* *When using " Screw Gravity" you can do a Nair on the way down. And if your high up in the sky you can bury a opponent under you.* And the final nerf... *When a opponent becomes a tree they can move slightly.* And the final buff.... *When throwing the bomb you can throw it like your using Pits neutral special. Meaning you will face upwards but stay still as you are throwing.*

I think my main (Or who I wish to be my main) Toon Waluigi got a bit of a nerf with the French Onion Soup having a 1/4 chance to appear and only heals 10% Damage before throwing, but I don't mind.

Perhaps the reason why Doof changes color during his Up B involves the smoke; I mean, wouldn't you turn sickly green inhaling all of that stuff? Idk, what I do know is, this was a fun patch video. Nice job tweaking moves like Sheldon's Fishbowl, all of Toon Guybrush's specials, Batman's Exploding Shark, etc. to be more viable for competitive/casual play. It was also interesting to see how much Lawl Nova has matured and progressed in it's lifetime, going from movesets that were designed to be unique, yet don't feel practical (ex. Elsa and her Ice Magic), to movesets that succeed in both categories (ex. Toon DK). Now how do I end this comment? *ponders in a matter that's similar to a certain king* Oh I know, CDI Zelda's never looked better (noice work Shadbad), can't wait to see Toon Waa's classic mode.

You should change Star Butterfly's line because when CDI Zelda was on screen, she still says Boy. I think the line should only be used when opponents other than girl characters are on screen. Star should say, Boy and Girl when 2 opponents (1 boy and 1 girl) is on screen, Boys and Girls for opponents (2 or more boys and 2 or more girls) that are on Screen, Boy and Girls for when opponents (1 Boy and 2 or more girls) are On Screen and Boys and Girl for when Opponents (2 or more boys and 1 girl) are on screen.

Nostalgia Skapokon oh wait, his move set should be changed a bit, Lukas and Petra should leave the assist trophies and get their own moves when you press Down B and it switches to Lukas then to Petra when it’s pressed again then back to Jesse when it’s pressed again. But the character you first use is random. There would be a 50% Chance that when you first press it Petra is spawned instead. Ruben also is used in the move set, but as a alternative down b.

About the Cutscene Final Smash Thing, I was thinking to just remove them in their entirety, some of them are way too long, and don’t fit the fast paced nature of the Smash Bros games, And this doesn’t just apply to Lawl Nova, It’s most Lawl Videoes in General.

John needs a lot of buffs in order to be playable. That’s how bad the joke is. He should always be the worst character, but to a reasonable extent

Skapokon I think John, while he still should purposefully be terrible, I think he should get some buffs to be less random, specifically with his entrance and Down Special. Joke characters should always exist, and John is one of those cases, but it should be a bit reasonable. People would pick him for the same they pick Pichu in Melee (Ultimate’s a completely different story), they pick Pichu to win as Pichu. Worst Hercules does that role pretty well, he’s purposefully bad, while also giving you a chance to win with Worst Hercules. John will just instantly lose a stock on some stages, shoots lasers that don’t even activate, and can get a motorcycle dude that instantly gets rid of all of his movement via Down Special. Again, I’m not saying John should be a good character, I’m just saying that he should be able to win outside of TAS and the Melee Gods. John should always be, and feel even worse than Worst Hercules, however he should be buffed enough to be able to win within a good player’s hands who wants to challenge themself. Who wants to even the playing field just like Pichu did in Melee. At the very least fix the entrance, make Neutral Special not be infinite when missed, and remove green biker dude from Down Special.
