Hi Ron. I just laid celebration sod about 6 weeks ago and Im following your spoon feeding program and the lawn is coming in nicely. I was wondering when will you cut off your granular fert such as when temperatures are consistently hitting, fill in the blank? I just had what I believe is damage from army worms on a large area of the yard and I applied some killer and have been seeing dead insects scattered throughout the lawn. I think the killer did the trick but now I want to push growth on the damaged areas before colder weather sets in. I planned on just using your liquid fert program from here on out every two weeks but I am tempted to do one last granular fert at 1/2 pound of nitrogen per 1000sqft. I live in southeastern NC on the coast in Sneads Ferry. What are your thoughts on when to cut granular as well as liquid fertilizers before colder weather sets in? I appreciate your time and greatly enjoy the channel. Keep dominating.
@RonHenry
@RonHenry 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew. This time of year, I play it by ear to an extent. Really depends on what the weather is doing. Given that it's still fairly warm in northeast GA, you could probably get away with a light feeding in October if you wanted. Using a half app of granular along with liquids sounds like a good plan. I just wouldn't give the lawn the normal amount of nitrogen this time of year. I various based on where you live though.

Great information! In my situation, a large 8 ft diameter area in my bermuda yard had to be dug up due to a major sewage excavation project Now Im trying to encourage the surrounding bermuda to naturally spread over the bare area ( buying pieces of sod is not annoption at this time) What are some products that will encourage lateral spread of bermuda & zoysia? And is it okay to apply them now?

Do you recommend germinating seeds, soaking for a few (5-7) days, in lower Fairfield county Connecticut ? Will have to mix the damp germinated soil with dry ingredients...use Peat moss? Fertilizer? Please advise. I have a very bumpy, un-level side lawn as had to dig up yard to install water draining Cultech systems. So, will order about 20 yards of topsoil...I have about 5500 square feet of lawn/yard area that I will resoil and reseed. Further, any need to mix in sand? Lots of rocks, both big and small, in yard....Connecticut tings' 😊 Thanks.

You always have great videos and content. I haven't jumped on the MG fertilizer line yet but have bought your other recommendations like CarbonPro-G, Acelepryn, PGR, etc. For fertilizers I have been all over the place using The Anderson's PGF that Doc pushes and lately trying Protene that Pete uses. Last summer I tried the Yard Mastery 17-7-6 for fun but the prill size was way too large for short bermuda and it sat on top until I forcefully sprayed it in. For liquids I have been using the N-Ext line along with Pete's CalTide. I will say you have simplified the process with this line and make it easy to understand as well as having a great looking lawn to back it up! Nice job...

I always love your content! My only wish is you were in the transition zone with cool season grasses. 😆 You turned me on to Carbon Pro G and I thank you for that. My yard is looking the best I have ever seen it. I over seeded last fall with a Texas type bluegrass, spreading perennial rye gras that was selected out of plots in Virginia, and a spreading TTTF. Last year I had way too much brown patch and I attribute that to a lack of drainage, lack of potash, less than desirable soil pH, and too much N. I have finally found after 5 years how to get my soil pH up. I am going with a softer fertility program - Screamin Green and the Whole Shebang. I am also using from DPH Biologicals a product called SP-1 T&O. This has Plant Based Humus Extract, Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria, and fermented plant extracts. This product is amazing in that it changes the soil very quickly to be more granular, increases ability to increase drainage bit yet retain water in the micropores. I have never seen anything do something as quickly as this has. Looking forward to a very good year.

@@RonHenry I ordered the 901c, Kelp, and NutriSolve. I also plan to use the humicmax as well. Using the spoon feeding method with both liquid and granular as shown in your videos. Should I do granular and liquid at the first of the month (3lbs per 1k & 2oz per 1k) or split the liquid 1oz per 1k) twice per month? You mentioned that most start out with full liquid 2oz per 1k at first of the month, does this apply when using both liquid and granular?

I missed the pre-emergent window and now starting to see weed. What’s the safest weed killer(budget option) that can be safely used during spring green up without harming the lawn. Celsius is unfortunately not an option for me
@RonHenry
@RonHenry 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Shrey. You can still apply pre-emergent. A good option that won't break the bank is Triad Select: golfcourselawn.store/products/broadleaf-weed-control-triad-select-3-way-herbicide Let me know if I can help with anything else.

@@RonHenry Thanks Ron. I’m reading a lot about how it’s only safe when grass is actively growing and all green. My grass in only about 20-30% green at this time. Will it still be safe?

If your using a liquid fertilizer and a soil enhancer like release zero together, which Teejet nozzle would you use. Because liquid fertilizer you want to use a foilar tip and release zero you want to use a soil tip.
@RonHenry
@RonHenry 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jeremy. Release Zero will work with either really. If the fertilizer you're mixing it with is designed for soil, I would use an air induction tip. Just let the mix sit for a few hours before watering in the liquid fertilizer. This one is a good in-between choice: amzn.to/3fIexOD Let me know if you need anything else.

How strange. Mine is so similar. I’ll be running Humic Max, Turfplex, Essential G + the YM Bio Stimulate Package with that same TJet nozzle. Weird, Lol. Thanks for all you do, Ron…

Hi Louis. It's Celsius. golfcourselawn.store/products/celsius-wg-broadleaf-and-grassy-weed-control-for-warm-season-turf Combine it with Certainty for really good coverage of most of the common weeds in your Bermuda. golfcourselawn.store/products/certainty-herbicide-1-25-oz-sedge-and-poa-annua-control Here's a video on how to mix them: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqjbiGawjdepjpo Let me know if you need anything. 😎

@@9thWard5386 It can be applied separately Louis. Doesn't have to be mixed with Celsius to be effective. Just depends on which weeds you're targeting.

@RonHenry
@RonHenry 2 жыл бұрын
@@9thWard5386 Tenacity is for cool season grass while Certainty is warm season. So the 2 products aren't interchangeable. In warm season grass Certainty is about the best you can get for controlling sedges and poa annua in warm season lawns. A little bit of the product goes a long way so not something you will frequently have to purchase. Hope this helps.

Hi Ana. Much of the cost associated with this products is either shipping or the fact that they're very concentrated. I don't really have an alternative that has the same effectiveness at a lower cost.

Yes, carbon/humic (humic is carbon chains, carbon rings?, and organic acids) helps soil in the first few years (I've witnessed and think its amazing). But, can you apply too much carbon in a single app? Apply too much using carbon products every application? what about continued use over years? Seems to me like the same problem you see with Phosphorus, except lasts a few hundred years longer and doesn't get up taken by a plant in any capacity. It lasts 1,000s of years potentially. Imagine the carbon build up if it stays for 1000s of years? I would think there has to be limit or maximum entry to get a equal result before you get a negative or are just wasting buying higher priced chemicals that include Carbon? (Im thinking organic fruits...their higher price rarely increases nutritional value) Also, with all Global warming concerns...some science shows some carbon stays in the soil for thousands of years...however, some shows it can also dissipate to the atmosphere and thus increase carbon in the air that increases global warming. Just questions. I don't expect an answer. However, hoping others might chime in and give me their two cents, or help my understand why we keep applying Carbon or Humic app after app. Cheers Lawn Care World! Keep it green!
