Lawn mower breaks connecting rod

A worn out Briggs & Stratton "Quattro" 4 HP breaks the connecting rod after running at full throttle with no oil. I had hoped that the broken rod would punch through the side of the engine, but the engine was on it's way to seize up, so the engine speed was apparently too low.
