Absolutely - my neighbours thought I was mad as the grass looked good before. It was when I realised it was spongy and started digging I found a good 6cm or more of thatch. No wonder parts were yellow. Having watched loads of lawn guys I settled on yours and have followed your steps for the last few weeks to dethatch, aerate the soil, over seed, and cover with compost. It’s already looking fabulous. I tried some non peat compost at first but it was rubbish. Using eco peat based now. I can send pics if you like.

Like a few followers I done the same about 4 or 5 weeks ago after watching one of your very informative vids. I lightly raked instead and took out about 3 and a half catchers. But goodness me what a difference it has made Big Dan. Always great advice and vids and I pass on your advice to friends too and advise them to watch you.

I did this exact thing 3 weeks ago cos my lawn seemed to be spongy/sweating when it got hot. I first thought I'd just ruined my nice grass grass, but 3 weeks later it's coming back really nice...just in time for our next heat wave.

Super stuff Daniel. I renovated my lawn in April based on your videos and results were outstanding! We had a large party at my house here last week with a Marquee (including floor) which ended up staying on lawn for almost 2 weeks. Removed yesterday, and grass looking very yellow and nearly dead. Any tips on renovating? Very dry warm spell of weather here this week!

Borrowed my mates scarifier back in May, lawn looked sad afterwards, gave it a feed also.. had I done the right thing?. Weeks later, grass bounced brilliantly. Due to issues with speaders, I've adopted a liquid only diet on the lawn. What colour nozzle is in your sprayer? I learnt there are differnt colours for different application rates.

Will be interesting to see your way around the hosepipe ban. I’ve kept my lawn alive and don’t want to see it all going brown now.

Hi Dan are the bare patches not down to overhanging plants. It seems odd that a dog would just stick to edge of lawn. I did a bit of a reseed and it failed where plants were overhanging and I think the leaves deflected any rain and ground dried out before seed took ?

Hi Daniel, I have used the liquid spray and whilst now it is all OK, just after I sprayed the ends of the grass were black. Is this because the concentrate of liquids to water was too high? Thanks!

Hi I’m wondering if you can help, do you know of a product I can apply to my lawn either spray or granular to help dog wee patch’s from happening and also would I be right in thinking rye seed is the better seed to use if you have a dog? And a big thanks for the content you have a new subscriber
@DanielHibbertLawnExpert2 жыл бұрын
No i dont sorry but thanks for subscribing

Yeag rye is easier to grow but will still die if seeded direct in the patch and will still die if weed on
