I use my own sprinklers too and just ordered this unit after watching this - I can't wait to give it a try. Thanks for the detailed video

Hope you enjoy it! These are nice units - I have one on each of my hoses and it allows me to water early in the morning while I am sleeping - love these things.

Just bought a 2 zone, 2 days ago. And im so in love with one less thing I need to do after work. Cus it's already done. The only things I can't figure out is how to cancel a time our how to use the rain delay. Can you help me with that? I only meant to do A, B and C,

Very interesting device - this could definitely make watering your lawn or garden much easier. I too am a fan of Melnor - their warranty is awesome! Thanks for the great review of this product. 👍

Using a timer like this has helped me out many times and my wife likes that I don't call her from work asking to turn on the sprinkler.
@TheLawnLover2 жыл бұрын
Agreed! My wife hated it when I asked her to turn on sprinklers too haha. I like the fact that this allows me to water when I am not home either. And for less than $100 for both units, it was a great alternative for me. Thanks for watching Joe, appreciate your support!

I grabbed the 4 zone version of this timer and love it. If you want to make your life even easier then I’d look into Quick-snap sprinklers that you can bury like traditional in-ground irrigation and use your timers and hoses to run them.
@TheLawnLover2 жыл бұрын
I have looked into those in ground quick snaps and might pull the trigger on upgrading to a few of those next year. Do you use them now? Do you like them?
@stepheneckert40062 жыл бұрын
@@TheLawnLover yup, I used them in my front lawn for nearly 2 years and they were great. I eventually pulled the trigger on actual in-ground irrigation in my front yard so I could have more control (wifi controller, flowerbed zones, mp rotators for more precise watering, etc). This year I transplanted them to the backyard where I dont have irrigation and was reminded how much I loved them. I’ve got only 5 heads covering an 8k sq ft lawn with pretty much full coverage (1 in the middle and 4 around the perimeter) since they spray about 40 ft if you have enough pressure. Highly recommended and they’re very affordable compared to the alternative. Only downside is having hoses everywhere but that happens anyway when moving around sprinklers

Great video pointing out the pros and cons of the unit. Melnor makes some really good products. Everything I own runs great.

Thanks PJ. Overall I like it, just wish it had an option to skip waterings so it didn't run all night without human interaction. But it definitely made my life much easier haha

I think this timer would be great to add to our garden so we don't forget watering it. I think that having one with a rain sensor on it would be great. Well done review, I like that you listed some improvements they could make with it as well.
@TheLawnLover2 жыл бұрын
This work great in a garden! I agree, the rain sensor would be a nice addition, they just don't have the auto rain sensor on this model. Thanks for watching!

Would be nice if it could be programmed to water on odd days of the month only. Would have to have a calendar feature to work

I just bought this product but I have the one for single zone. I'm trying to set it up to water my arborvitaes every 2 days at 7pm but the problem is the arborvitaes were manually watered yesterday so I don't need the automatic watering to start until tomorrow at 7pm but the timer seems to automatically make the first watering on the day you set it up and then every 2 days thereafter. It would be nice if there were a feature that allows you to set up automatic watering to start on a specific day and then after that, water at whatever daily interval you set.
@TheLawnLover Жыл бұрын
I agree 100%. I actually provided feedback to Melnor about adding a feature like you describe and even putting in a feature to skip times/days without having to manually reset everything to make it more automated with less user interaction. We will see what they do with future releases of this product, but this has sure helped me automate my watering and do it while I sleep - which has made my life much easier haha. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment - I appreciate it!

Why you opted for this model instead of going for the bluetooth controlled model?
@TheLawnLover2 жыл бұрын
The digital unit was cheaper and I wasn't sure how well the bluetooth unit would work in my house. I read some the reviews on each and opted for this timer. Sometimes we have issues connecting to stuff outside on our wifi, so I opted for the digital timer instead. Thanks for watching and the great question!

Problem I have with this timer is my watering days (days controlled by local board), I need to set EVERY Monday and Thursday, my watering days. No way to do this.
@TheLawnLover Жыл бұрын
This model will handle that and allow you to choose certain days of the week and really individualize your schedules. I use this one my front faucet now this summer and it worked great! amzn.to/3QCOqvl
