Great video Martin! Bobby Davro meets Ricky Gervais in the shed! Thanks for the intro to Paul. Also great info on compressor I'm having noise issues with mine so looking for alternative setup. Belt drive looks the way to go and prices reasonable to. Love to see it all stops for the grand kids - priceless as I'm sure you know.

Hi Martin, another great videoas usual. Can I ask you if you are happy with your new 90litre compressor? I am going to buy my first one soon, but I really want it to be a good one. Does it take standard connections or is it different because it’s from Germany. Any advice greatly appreciated cheers Rob 👍👍👍should I go for it.
@retrorestore6 жыл бұрын
Yes Rob it's a great compressor and great value for the money. Jimmy's one has been well used since 2016 and that's good enough for me to see that first hand.

Hi martin. Speaking of compressor noise, have you seen when they fit a fridge compressor to a compressor instead of a normal motor and it's silent when running. I'm thinking of making one of these then it can be used at night without waking the neighbours. Regard Ian.
@retrorestore6 жыл бұрын
Yes, i've heard of it but It's not really an issue for me. Cheers Martin

The first mower I attempted had a Classic 35 engine. The thing had a hard life. Flywheel key had sheared and the thing ran me ragged until I found out the crankcase had been somehow dented in very slightly meaning there was too much friction on the crankshaft to turn the engine over properly. Luckily the other mower fixes have been easy in comparison.

I made a lot of money using roller mowers. Hayter’s. Something mower man didn’t seem to know much about in his last Hayter video. Buy Hayter pros cheap and put new roller assemblies in and tart it up can make a lot👍🏻. Not much market for 4 wheel mowers in south east England. I did a roller video the other week. Great to see a meet up. Shirts are great also Martin. Cheers.

Hi Martin, I have the exact same compressor as your 90 Litre Burisch but mine is branded as a Wolf. Ive had it a couple of years now for DIY home use and its been very reliable indeed - and as its a belt drive its much, much quieter than my old direct drive 25 Litre. FYI - Burisch is a UK company (not German - even though the name and flag colours would suggest otherwise) and, if my memory serves me correctly, they're based in Luton. Both the Burisch and Wolf compressors are made in China and re-branded by who ever imports them. They're really good value though, and I paid about £220 for mine, including VAT and delivery.
@retrorestore6 жыл бұрын
Nice info, I didn't know that, very pleased with it and Jimmy's is great too.
@tigermoth31946 жыл бұрын
No problem. BTW, I forgot to mention....when they come from the factory the built up air pressure cuts out at about 9 bar (the spec states it should be 10 bar) but if you take the black plastic cover off the start/stop button you will see a large screw that adjusts the pressure. Give that screw about 1 full turn clockwise and the compressor will cut out at 10 bar and will give the air tools a bit extra initial power.
@retrorestore6 жыл бұрын
Nice one, Cheers Martin
@simonrawle78856 жыл бұрын
the compressor cutting out is likely to be the one way valve and spring ( pastel valve ) wot happens is wan the valve fails the motor has to compress the full tanks psi to start and over loads the motor hence cuts out
@stephenwhite38326 жыл бұрын
I’m gonna give it a go, buy it, restore it, sell it, even if I don’t make anything I’ll have a laugh
