I did some manual aerating on my front lawn and the council lawn the other week which took me 4 hours to do then I chucked some granular bug killer, lawn fert and put some gypsum down since I got junky clay soil and I also gave it a nice drink of seasol few days ago and my kikuyu is going mental but then again we have had some good weather in s.a so far. I'm just waiting for a jealous neighbour to poison it or something since it's the best looking and only lawn in the hood since no one else cares about their yards.

Hey Ben, Long time lurker , first time commenter. Love your vids. I have a kikuyu lawn I’ve been keeping in check with PGR and I just ordered a Swardman Edwin 2.1 which should arrive mid dec. Also I’ve been trying to rejuvenate my front nature strip to grow over the dead patches that occurred when my 9 year old decided to to write ‘HI’ in giant letters on it with my glyso weeding wand. 😂 Any more tips you can give me for managing kik with the swardman?

KIK loves reel mowing. Needs to be a super flat surface, may take 2-3 goes at top dressing to get it flat. And yes, PGR is your freind. I find 12mm the sweet spot if you can get it that low.

I know its a pricey tool, but I noticed theres a few inches of it sticking out the front when you measure it at about 5:36. Could you relocate the dial indicator by drilling another hole further up the bar so it works better for your Reel Mower?

I think you will end up enjoying the Toro more now since you have space to run it wide open on the speed and should do better the swordsman on the slope. I could see you had to push up a bit. Looks amazing tho as I defer my eyes from the wild grass in the background. Lol still not used to doing so much ain't you

Is this grass type les stripable? We don't get that sort here in the UK as we predominantly have ryegrass/ fescue which seems to come up alot easier when mowing with a roller
