@@neutronstarpilot4393 Your biased viewpoint on whom a particular vote favors is nothing but your opinion. Public education is terrible, and way over-funded. The US spends more per pupil than almost any other country, and yet results suck. In fact, there's no correlation to results. The US tripled per student spending over the last decades, yet test results didn't change. The only people gaining are corrupt unions and administrators. There's an obvious diminishing marginal return to spending. "The wealthy" are the only real class of people who pay significant taxes. Every useful tax cut will benefit them most. To quote the tax foundation: "In 2016, the top 50 percent of all taxpayers paid 97 percent of all individual income taxes, while the bottom 50 percent paid the remaining 3 percent. The top 1 percent paid a greater share of individual income taxes (37.3 percent) than the bottom 90 percent combined (30.5 percent)." I know you convinced yourself that your hard-left progressive viewpoint is somehow objectively correct, but it's not. There are more ways to view the world, and different values people have. What I value most is freedom, not maximizing my loot from rich people. I find it unconscionable to extract wealth from others who have more through coercive means, just because I command guns. McConnell is not a champion for liberty, by any means. But he's by far better than any Democrat I can think of.

There are actually many of those aprox 35% of this country who are moderate and do not pledge an allegiance to a single party but they’re quiet and not loud like the peanut gallery on either sides. I've drove by his house and his poor neighbours have to deal with protesting, even through the night in a residential area. They ended up being the only people with a Mitch McConnell sign up in the neighborhood, but it only makes sense when people scream practically at your house all the time. We should not act like fools in the process of "wanting change" is my point. You'll push people away from a cause they would otherwise agree with.
@BroNumsi4 жыл бұрын
@@zuffin1864 Agree, it won't change anything to stand outside his house, bothering his neighbors. He needs to be called out publicly, to be exposed and voted out of office. He himself doesn't care about being called out, but revels in the controversy. But open people's eyes and they might remove him.

It's funny how a subject in discussion, always returns to a bipartisan argument when it's not bipartisan at all. It proves the bickering is a hobby for some. Money is the root of all evil. Always has been - always will be. Both sides worship it. D.C. used to be a town of simple civil servants. Now one can buy a Bentley, Rolls Royce or whatever lobbyists money procures these days. Bad corporate culture and dishonest politics go hand in hand. Take the money out of it. All that remains is...either you are a socialist or your not.

Maybe you should do some research then. Democrats have been trying to reform campaign finance laws for decades. That’s not to say that Democrats haven’t availed themselves of the corrupt system and there aren’t establishment Democrats who wholeheartedly have embraced corporate funding (Biden and MBNA is a good example), but the Democrats have on the whole attempted reforms. Democrats opposed Citizens United for example. The problem is that the Democrats have had to accept corporate donations to compete; the establishment Democrats more so than most (especially after the Republicans crushed the unions which comprised the financial support base for Democrats). This is what was so revolutionary about someone like Bernie; his campaign was entirely funded by small dollar contributions from individuals. While one could never say the Democrats are completely free of corporate corruption, they don’t embrace it wholeheartedly like the Republicans do; and there are plenty of Democrats that would love to enact reforms.
