My father was a polio survivor. Spent several months in an Iron Lung. Was told first he wouldn't live, then he'd never get out of the iron lung, then he'd never walk again. Spent the rest of his life suffering from the effects of Scoliosis of the Spine due to muscle death from the polio. Jonas Salk was idolized in my household as a great man. We were signed up for every vaccine available, because this man KNEW, more than anyone else, what it meant to suffer through these diseases. One generation later.... we've got this knucklehead questioning the polio vaccine. Why do we never learn from history? I guess we're headed towards an entire new generation of children confined to a life in an iron lung.
