Bobby mentioned the Steel Pier in Atlantic City, that was where his fellow Welk Show star Mary Lou Metzger was part of the Stars of Tomorrow show in the 1950s as an 8 year old kid.

Great show with some songs I have not heard in awhile. It's funny that my brothers and sisters don't like this kind of music. It reminds me of Dad and Mom in their hay day.

Thank you very much for posting this one! Is this the only episode where we see Bob Ralston group-sing, skit (ie flex(!)) but not play piano,? Furthermore, did he do so more often in previous seasons? Also, the band backs Dick up very well with 'Gonna Build a Mountain' with outstanding chord progressions and blending of the instruments; a trend that carried over from the late '60's into the early-mid 70's in televised variety shows, with TLWS being of no exception! These instrumentalists are brilliant, with a good team of arrangers.

@@LawrenceWelkLPs I thought of this later also regarding the episode: Guy's cough during his and Ralna's post-number commentary, seemed to verify that he was recovering from a cold, given that he minimized his vocal and let her do much of the lead on the singing.
