Lawrence Wong on taking over as Singapore Prime Minister from Lee Hsien Loong on May 15

Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong released a video statement on Monday (Apr 15), after it was announced that he would take over as Prime Minister from PM Lee Hsien Loong on May 15. "I accept this responsibility with humility and a deep sense of duty," he said. "Every ounce of my energy shall be devoted to the service of our country and our people."

Cost of living so high, food prices so high, HDB as AFFORDABLE HOUSING is a joke, runaway COE prices with no control on car population, no proper animal welfare, people still suffer to make ends meet, a lot of young people are suffering from mental issues and depression, homelessness still exist, locals cant find jobs, people who cant find jobs are advised to change career which means one who is born in an average family is not allowed to have dreams..mps in sex scandals, minister in corruption case, the main drivers in SG are just money and power... the divide between the rich and poor is getting bigger and all that is given are vouchers after vouchers.. Can new Prime Minister, Mr Lawrence Wong, and Finance Minister review to abolish the Property Tax on the Principal Place of Residence for all Singaporean Retirees with little or no employment income? The property tax rate hike is too much and has caused financial hardship to an extend of impacting the lifestyle of those living in landed homes which they had worked so hard to achieve to a ‘poverty’ level after paying huge Property Tax hike. Robbing Robin to pay Paul from PPR property tax bill is sending hardworking Singaporeans living in landed property to the grave early, or forcing them to rethink of moving out to other countries. But they have to be able to sell their landed homes which they were born, have lived and brought up their children, this is so sad, when they don’t want to leave Singapore, which they have called home.
