In hindsight Dave should have been killed off here. He was a great character but the impact of his death would’ve been much greater than the affair bs and George’s exit that came afterwards. Dave was never the same between these episodes and his exit three years later. His character was completely ruined.

Yeah that's a fair point actually. I wanted Dave to survive and was glad he did because he was my favourite character but the following storylines were weak

I'm glad they didnt kill Dave Quinnan off here, but I think he should have left after this storyline was resolved... His character peaked here - his subsequent storylines were never as good
