Buakaw is the HULK of Muay Thai. We are often taught not to get angry, that the emotion only works against us and not for us...
But that is absolutely not true for Buakaw, who harnesses his energy and uses it productively in the ring.
In this episode, we explore what happens when Buakaw gets angry and gives us fights that we will never forget.

I have met Buakaw many times over the last twenty or so years, visited his old camp and the new camp by invitation. When he was a guest at the Thailand festival in Birmingham (UK) a few years ago he spotted me before I saw him and he called me! He posed for pictures with my wife and daughter and we chatted (the weather was not good) under our umbrella. He is such a charming and quietly spoken person to the point it is hard to imagine one is talking to a great champion. Thailand is riddled with corruption, to the point I must not speak of it here, but I can say that the last time I saw him in his new training camp he seemed a much happier man.

True, you can mix emotions with different initiatives, timings, and approaches. I think that's why the Chinese and Japanese favored explaining things in 5 elements - to make room for multiple ways of approaching every problem. In a sense it gives the ability to switch gears, or in a fight: switch up the flow, the target, the objective, or even the way you think (making it harder for the opponent to read you).

An indomitable fighter is what Buakaw is. A lesser person would have broken down in the situation Buakaw was in. But he is a person who only knows to fight back and exactly that he did. In 2019 i lost my job and was in a very bad shape financially. I saw all my life work demolished in front of me. The fighting spirit of Buakaw was the inly thing which kept me going. I used to watch his fights time and again. Every time he goes for the kill gave me strength and stamina to face another day and fight back. I salute you my HERO. You don't even know me probably will never know me. But YOU instilled that nerve of steel in me and taught me to get up in face of adversity and give my best. THANK YOU

Just don't use your elbow and be respectful and The White Lotus won't get angry. He's the perfect gentleman inside and out of the ring! But once you show yourself to be a cheater, or disrespectful, you're gonna feel it. If you use your elbow, you might as well throw in the towel! Lots of love and respect to Buakaw❣ Even my spellcheck spells out his name! One last thought, I've even seen him shoveling dirt to help complete a project the community was working on!

BauKaw wasnt supposed to win the Masato fight. If you dont believe sports are fixed, this should be a example to all. Interesting little tidbit to the Takayuki match is that being in Japan Takayuki's mother was there, apparently she was one of the people that helped with his training since his family are well known in the martial arts community. She seemed to encourage his aggressive style. Until Buakaw got mad of course. Then she seemed rather quiet and stern faced.

I've seen quite a few Buakaw highlight videos and none of them went into any details or explanations like this. WELL DONE 👍👍 When this guy's just sparring he's dangerous, I'd hate to be the opponent when he's mad.

I was informed that when Buakaw is not training he is helping many in his village. How admirable is that. I feel like many individuals who are sincere about their profession, this man dose the same. I for one would be most honored to meet and speak with him.

Anger could either be your friend or your enemy in a fight. You could lose focus but in Buakaw's case, it brought out the killer instincts out of him. What a beast!
