"We live in egalitarian times, which is why the men are taught that to consider looks is the same thing as being a pig.
And the women are taught that to look for a high-status male who can lead others is to be a frothy little bit of nothing.
And yet the way of the world continues."

Hi Linsey. i have two precious Daughters and am wondering.. well, let me lead with this; if my Daughter's make a written list and have 81 things or more -as a Loving Father i would have to get involved in how ..details, rather how big and how small these 80 some qualities they must meet are. So, that said, when You randomly look at Your list (i don't know how it is ordered), and took the 1st, 10th, 20th, 30th ... and so on to the 81st thing, what are those things about? i would Love to Know.. @DavidZechariah The 10 most important things were things such as: devout believer, church goer, Reformed, good relationships with his family, honest, hardworking, loves children, etc. The other things were more preferences, like being athletic, playing guitar, having brown eyes. Those 71 things were not absolutes, but God still blessed me with a guy who fit them all. He knew I was terrified of marriage having lived through my parents' tumultuous marriage. I really didn't want to get married so I think in a way I was protecting myself from that possibility by making an "impossible" list.

Women's discernment in mates is an awesome program God created that keeps men good, sharp, and moving upwards. But in this day and age and especially in the church, that program is corrupted. I find most women in the church don't come close to meeting their own standards. Based on the tremendous effort I've put into becoming a marriageable man. I don't see women putting in anywhere near that effort to become a marriageable woman. They wouldn't last a day in my shoes. Everything in their life is taken care of by their wealthy boomer parents. They are well behaved, due not to their own virtue, but to their coddled environment. They are naive and ignorant having grown up so sheltered. Having an underdeveloped sense of compassion and empathy. They don't cook, they don't garden, they don't play an instrument or really any other feminine skill. On the rare occasion they do, there is no mastery, only mediocrity. They don't understand theology or have a depth of biblical knowledge. They don't think for themselves. They just regurgitate the same tired old unbiblical tropes floating around in western modern evangelicalism. Listening to Hillsong and elevations shallow unoriginal repetitive hipster music. Yet they have the audacity to sit upon a pharisetical high horse and misjudge hardworking, blue collar, knowledgeable Christian men. When nothing Christian men do is good enough it's no wonder so many fall victim to porn and video game. It's no wonder so many men are committing suicide. I myself have an exceptional wife, who puts most young Christian women to shame. I am not bitter, I am righteously angered. Because of what Christian women put me through before hand. I'll also add that these criticisms are almost exclusively directed at western white women. The most spoiled humans on the planet. My advice for young men is to earn enough money for yourself so that you can afford to take a long sabbatical. In which you go out and find a foreign bride who will see, appreciate, and respect all your genuine effort.

My goodness you’re hitting it right on the nail! I as a Christian woman agree with this and I am not offended at all. It’s all true sadly. I believe it has to do with the feminist movement seeping into the church, women dont want to be the woman God has called them to be according to Scripture and that’s the first problem, no submission to the God of Scripture. I by the grace of God I’m trying to become who God intended for me to be as a woman, I thankfully have a mom that has taught me how to cook and clean and such which there’s no shame in it’s actually good to know such. Also sadly some Christian women would find your comment offensive.

@@robertamorales5904 That's very nice to hear. I commend you for your wisdom, empathy, and compassion. But yes indeed, feminism is a prime culprit. A very subtle and peculiar form invading the church. Slowly and indirectly creeping in so as to go unnoticed. Once established, it plays on our human tendency to become apathetic and indifferent. But look at the bright side. Perhaps it leaves more opportunity for women like you. A light does shine brighter in darkness. Anyway, keep up the good work, and God bless you.

And to think…I always wore heels just for added height. 🤷‍♀️ I have enjoyed these videos, even though I am married and past the dating phase of my life. However, I’d like to add that despite marrying someone who is imperfect, just like you, and maybe didn’t have all the things on your checklist at the time, for either of you, true Christians are always growing into their roles. You can’t know everything at once. I understand so much more about fulfilling my role as a wife and mother and A CHRISTIAN now thanks to Christ and pursuing his Word, than I was when my husband first married me and vice versa. We were baby immature Christians when we first got married. But I have also had the pleasure of watching my husband grow and mature spiritually over the years. But I do enjoy how Doug unpacks all these feelings and internal conflicts around dating, and I hope to impart this wisdom as much as possible onto my kids, as I did not have the same benefit, though it all worked out. 😉

I think it depends on what one means by high status. In terms of financial status, Jesus and his disciples were not of high status. Would one seriously make the claim that they wouldn’t make good husbands? Jesus taught us look to at one’s character, not at what one has.

I think among believers "high status" does not always match the world's view. Plenty of women are attracted to men who will go into ministry. It is not usually highly lucrative calling, but it is a role of leadership.

I have two younger brothers that found what they wanted. One married a very attractive latin lady and the other cohabits with a girl 10 years younger whose cute. One is a concrete contractor the other is a painting contractor. I’ve never even come close to attracting someone in the likes of the gals my brothers attract. The reason is abject poverty. My Dad was not a great father. He didn’t want to take part in my schooling or even teach the skills he had. He was often abusive and unbearable. At best he was very pessimistic. My brothers found other men who could teach them valuable work and life skills. They gained confidence from their social and occupational fellowship with these guys. I was abandoned and the only memory I had of male influence was my Dad. Not so good. I’m a real 38 year old Incel.

How can a woman be both modest and simultaneously provocative in any way? I've always been confused by the practical side of so-called modesty.

Debunking catholicism I'm more blessed than mary Proof = Luke 11:27-28 27 And it happened, as He spoke these things, that a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which nursed You!” 28 But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!” AMEN and AMEN. _________________________ 1 Timothy 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach Paul allows bishops to get marry, but catholic church goes against paul. Now these catholic will give a Verses from 1 Corinthians7 to say that paul gave the advice to stay unmarried. But they will not tell you that the same chapter they quote says 1 Corinthians 7:28 "even if you do marry, you have not SINNED". The passage literally says "young women, young men" and a bishop is supposed to be a Church ELDER. Mic drop _________________________ Jesus said Matthew 23:9 9 Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. And also said Holy Father to Heavenly Father= John 17:11 11 Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are. Jesus said call no one Father but still catholics call *pope holy father. Sad _________________________ Whenever a catholic argue about mary being the mother of God Use this to defeat the argument. Luke 8:21 But He answered and said to them, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.” Matthew 12:46-50 46 While He was still talking to the multitudes, behold, His mother and brothers stood outside, seeking to speak with Him. 47 Then one said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak with You.” 48 But He answered and said to the one who told Him, “Who is My mother and who are My brothers?” 49 And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! 50 For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.”. Mark 3:35 For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother.” John 19:26-27 26 When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold your son!” 27 Then He said to the disciple, “Behold your mother!” And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home. ( Jesus basically said John is the son of mary, and mary is the mother of John from that time onwards). By the way sarah is the mother of all proof=Galatians 4:21-26. _________________________ We should not pray to apostles Romans 1:25 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. Acts 10:25-26 25 As Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshiped him. 26 But Peter lifted him up, saying, “Stand up; I myself am also a man.” Acts 14:15 15 and saying, “Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men with the same nature as you, and preach to you that you should turn from these useless things to the living God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all things that are in them, Revelation 19:10 10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Revelation 22:8-9 8 Now I, John, saw and heard these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who showed me these things. 9 Then he said to me, “See that you do not do that. For I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God." Colossians 2:18 18 Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, Holy Spirit intercedes for us=Romans 8:26 26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession [a]for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And CHRIST as well=Romans 8:34 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Hebrews 7:25 25 Therefore He is also able to save [a]to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. It's Christ and Holy Spirit who intercedes for us not apostles There is only one Mediator between God and men LORD Jesus Christ= 1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus. _________________________ Apostles are allowed to marry, 1 Corinthians 9:1-5 1 Am I not an apostle? Am I not free? Have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? Are you not my work in the Lord? 2 If I am not an apostle to others, yet doubtless I am to you. For you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord. 3 My defense to those who examine me is this: 4 Do we have no right to eat and drink? 5 Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? If Peter (peter is cephas read John 1:42) the so called "first pope" was married, why does the catholic church doesn't allow "pope" to marry? _________________________ The so called vicar of christ/ pope/holy father Peter called himself a fellow elder in 1 Peter 5:1, and as per the qualifications of elder in Titus 1:5-9 the elder is allowed to get married; then why does the "pope" is required to be celibate and catholic? ( when Peter was neither celibate nor catholic). 1)Peter was not perfect human nor was he a perfect disciple 2)He sank down while walking on water 3)Our Lord said to peter get behind me satan 4)Peter reject our Lord 3 times 5)Our Lord rebuked Peter for calling fire from heaven 6)Our Lord rebuked Peter when he cut of the soilders ear 7)Paul rebuked Peter for being hypocrite because he was acting different in front of Jews and different in front of gentiles. 8) Moses messed up, and he was a important part of Bible ( that's why he never entered the promised land), 9)David messed up ( and he has the Holy Spirit), 10)King Soloman messed up, 11) Saul messed up and God regretted the decision (1 Samuel 15:10-11). Hatrick (Saul then David then Soloman back to back messed up) 12)The apostles run away a day before Lord Jesus got locked up. 13)The early church messed up Rev 2:18-20 If these great people could mess up, why do you think the catholic church wouldn't mess up. ____________________________________ Galatians 4:21-26 21 Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not hear the law? 22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bondwoman, the other by a freewoman. 23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, and he of the freewoman through promise, 24 which things are symbolic. For these are the two covenants: the one from Mount Sinai which gives birth to bondage, which is Hagar- 25 for this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children- 26 but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all. Sarah is mother of all, Not mary. ...

I ask this with all due respect and I mean no disrespect. So please please pleas don’t mistake my intentions. I wonder if the present day woman would be attracted to Jesus. Scripture speaks well of the meek and lowly and doesn’t seem to speak well of the proud, boastful, haughty or stiff necked (which is what I see as ‘the bad boy’). I try to model myself after Christ and I fall short often. When I think of Christ, I just don’t see ‘the bad boy’ or ‘the wealthy and physically attractive guy’ who women tend to find so exiting and attractive. I’m a 48 years old deacon who got married with very minimal girlfriend experience. I’m perhaps even the deacon spoken about by Wilson in not such a good light. I’ve been married for 30 years but my wife has never swooned over me. I just can’t strike that balance between being like Jesus and being like James Dean and even if I did, I would no longer be me. Sometimes I just want to give up. Would David (not that he is any of those things) be more attractive than Jesus?
@holysmokes4493
@holysmokes4493 2 жыл бұрын
Upon first and second impressions? Ninety-nine percent would pick David while the rest would say they preferred neither. 😁 But seriously, I'm not qualified to give anything even approaching marital advice being unmarried myself. Still, I find it surprising to see how many people still have this dividing line between Jesus and traditional masculinity. I'm sure we'd all like to think that none of the women that followed him during his ministry were physically attracted to him and they were there only for spiritual reasons. To that I say pure nonsense. Jesus displayed immense leadership capabilities and many women would have loved to be the wife of a king, considering the 1st century ideal of the messiah. The idea of Jesus Christ as diametrically opposed to classically masculine modes of expression or as one who was feeble, over-spiritualized, and impotent seems to be an extra-biblical invention. Given that, David was a man of war and Jesus was, by appearances, the son of a carpenter. A carnal mind would only appreciate a man of blood, such as David, as the peak of masculinity but if you would look at Jesus from a another perspective, and see him as the culmination and fulfillment of the mythical hero, it would be difficult to describe him as anything else apart from the perfection of masculinity. David killed giants but Jesus 'undid' death, all without raising a sword. I'm at my limits in these things but it's all to say that in Christ, James Dean's masculinity is in an incomplete and immature state whereas Jesus shows us a better way and that without diminishing the reality of our testosterone-fueled bodies.

Dear Darla, I find almost all that is said in this video to be irreverent, and yet worse than that, harmful. First of all, you are made in the image of God, which means you are from Him and through Him and to Him, formed for unmediated union and communion with Father, Son, and Spirit, before, in, and beyond your marriage (Gen. 1:26-28). You should look for a man who resembles your Head, Jesus Christ, in his earthly sojourn, gentle and humble in heart, willing to sacrifice himself for you, even unto death, as he helps you reach your chief end. Secondly, this "eroticism of authority" is Uncle's own speculation, which the Word of God explicitly speaks against. The only time "authority" is used with reference to marriage is in 1 Cornthians 7:4, when the husband and wife are given mutual authority of each others' bodies. How dangerous it will be to your soul, especially if it has been scarred by abuse, to import Uncle's teaching into your bedroom where above all gentleness and patience and selflessness makes way for mutual delight. Thirdly, you should not take a chance on a brash, loud, and aggressive man in hopes that you might tame him. Yes, this means that aggression is not meant to be erotic or a supposed sign of necessary testosterone. We are not called to lock horns (Phil 4:5) but to love our neighbors, and we remember our Savior's words, "Blessed are the peacemakers." Look for a man who not only loves you, but respects you ---one that encourages you in the gifts God has given you as you seek to glorify Him together with the combined strength of your hearts, souls, and minds. Look to God to provide in His timing for His glory. He sees you, and loves you. Do not fear. Look to Him, the Giver of every good and perfect gift, who satisfies your soul with good things (Ps. 107).
