I misspoke in the beginning, thank you for those who caught that, photography is 2 dimensional!

Thanks Jay P. Morgan! Fascinating guidelines you gave us as to how to create texture. Gave me some great ideas how I can apply this concept to documentary camera work here in Alaska. By the way, just did stop this half-way through to go outside-- minus 10 below-- to get some great winter light shots. Kept on clicking... Now back inside so I could finish today's lesson by the warm fireplace. Just a side note, for those who've never been to the Arctic. In the wintertime, everything is ONE DIMENSION! Flat snow, flat ice, flat frozen tundra, miles and miles. So Jay P. Morgan, no apologies needed up here in this country!

Hey JP, thanks for this. I not only love your channel, but I also recommend it to a lot of friends starting with photography, for them to get the basics and not so basic tips. I'm a professional photographer and DoP, and although I generally feel very familiar with all the content you teach, I still learn a lot from your techniques and experience. I would like to ask you for a special request, tho, as I really can't seem to find anything relevant. I would like to learn theory and technique to work with the Camera Calibration Module in Lightroom, specially with the HUE/SAT sliders. Understand how they work in theory, and how they inter-relate. All I find online generally is about how to set up your camera profile, but not an explanation on how to use creatively the sliders. Thanks and keep up the good work!!

One dimension ?? Maybe you mean 2 Dimension - a circle of light on a photocard is two dimensions, illuminating a cube and printing the photo has two dimensions. Am I misunderstanding something?
@Tokechan7 жыл бұрын
One dimension would be literally a line, I'm with you on this one.
@NonalignedVideos7 жыл бұрын
yeah, he's talking about "2 dimensions" every time he references "one dimensional". a mess-up.

Hi! Im your subscriber from Russia. Could you please advise good online courses for learning photography with certificate? The price is whatever. My level is intermediate, i shoot for 10 years but commercial is just 3 years. English if fluent (i will study in English). There are a lot of spam courses so it would be of real help if you know any good ones ❤❤❤

0:33 I think when he says 1 dimensional experience he means the 2 dimensions of a flat image: like 1920 ×1080 pixels. 1 dimension is a straight line. That would not be a very engaging experience ;)

Correct. Thanks for your comment!

You can't give a physical explanation and have the terminology so wrong. One dimension makes as much sense as a camera runs on rainbow lizard weevils.
@TheSlantedLens7 жыл бұрын
I've never seen a rainbow lizard weevil. Sorry about the mistake.

The Slanted Lens it's a great video, solid demonstration of the effects your discussing. Maybe you should have some beta watchers to catch stuff like that, you don't want distractions from your solid content.
