Lawsuit accuses home warranty company of not fixing AC, other appliances

If you’ve ever had a home warranty you know the words, “Sorry. That’s not covered,” can be pretty common when something goes wrong. Now a new lawsuit is accusing a popular home warranty company of refusing to fix air conditioners and appliances, even though homeowners paid their annual fees.

Been in HVAC industry for 20 years and I can confirm that even the most popular home warranty companies are a complete scam

How well would suing them go do you think? After threatening to sue my home warranty for sending out a hvac on my unit and they told us nothing was wrong with our unit and then our handler was leaking so bad it flooded into our house home warranty sent out a brand new unit and every year we're still calling them 5 or 6 times a year for the past 4 years because the brand new unit constantly breaks.

American Home Shield! Don't mess with the company. They're horrible! There needs to be a class action lawsuit against American Home Shield.

I work for them and they are the worst to work for I walked out after 13 days. They do promise to cover everything though with their top of the line and Warranty I will tell you you are very stupid to call any company whether it’s an AC company or a warranty company in June July or August.. the entire country is bursting with broken AC units. Stop being cheap about it spend the $200 every February or March and have a tuneup. People that avoid paying tuneup fees are very stupid because this cuts the life of the AC unit in half which will cost you $5000 at least

I am having the same problem with American Home Shield right now. Their contractor advised me to replace the unit and gave me a way overpriced estimate and when I said I could get it a lot cheaper by someone else, he refused to turn in the estimate to AHS. And they say I can’t get a payout amount if the contractor doesn’t put in the request to replace. Those warranty companies are a scam. I could have paid cash for the unit with the fees I paid to AHS in the last 6 years.

Keep your money in the bank is the best policy. But being an air conditioning contractor, I see people with old furnace and air conditioners buying policies thinking they ae going to get a new system. Some have been paying into the system for many years and I feel bad for them, and I try and help as much as I can. But I also see people buying a policy for a 25-year-old system barely working or not when they buy the coverage and getting upset that only the part that failed is covered. And expecting the home warranty company to clean and maintain their equipment when they haven't. It is a two-way streak.

Awful company, just broke away from choice home warranty after a year. Don't go with them if ur thinking about a home warranty

Liberty guard home warranty Won’t cover my water heater broken LOL I bought Liberty Guard home warranty company Premium Package Paid $1900.00 For 5 years on November 2019 March 30 water heater broken! Liberty guard said Not covered LOL
