Laydown License Plate for my Heritage Classic - Beware

I put the same one on my Heritage and had the similar experience with the bolts. Just reused the ones already there. It’s been on for a year now and very solid. I enjoy your mods and upgrades videos. Keep ‘em coming and ride safe.

Yes.. the original bolts are fine. Glad to hear they are holding up. I have more vids on the way but work has interfered with my ability to find time. I went to my first dealer demo day a week or so ago and can't wait to report on some of the new bikes. Thanks for your comment and for watching 🤙

Why dont harley put the licence plate under the tail light? There is plenty of room for it.

Looks like it’s stainless hardware. So ya Gotta antiseize the bolts or the threads will gall up and seize

I'm not sure if they are stainless, but that's not a bad idea. I have a jar of that and may dab a little on them next time I detail my bike. Thanks for the comment and for watching!🤙

Why the hell Harley didn't put the licence plate below the light I'll never know. It's such an obvious place for it.

I can dig what you're saying. The one thing, however, is the lay down plate looks way better than the stock billboard. I must have picked up at least 5 mpg with reduced drag resistance.. lol. Thanks for the comment and for watching 🤙

Did you remove the tire to get in there?

Not at all. I was able to snake my hand up there with just enough room to spare. If you need a little extra room you may try lifting the bike a little and that should give a little more clearance between tire and fender. Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙
