@gamestation1304 жыл бұрын
Tommy-Lee Anfield what’s Trilogy? Is it those three albums that all have like black and white covers?
@ex5n434 жыл бұрын
@@gamestation130 I'm a bit of a Weeknd fan so I'll see what I can tell you. Basically, I'll start of by saying that Weeknd has portrayed a "dark" image of himself ... He left home when he was a teenager one weekend (which inspired his stage name "The Weeknd") and was homeless for a while too, whilst also getting into the drug & girls scene. This kinda inspires the sound of his first "album" Trilogy, which is therefore fairly dark thematically - drugs, sex etc as he was in a dark place. I say "album" because Trilogy is actually his first 3 mixtapes combined together (hence the "tri" in trilogy) - the 3 mixtapes separately are: "House of Balloons", "Thursday" & "Echoes of Silence" (you can see the individual tracklists online). Honestly, the whole Trilogy is a MUST listen - it is the introduction to this dark character of "Weeknd" or Abel (his real name). After Trilogy, just listen to his albums chronologically, as you can see his progression experimenting different sounds as you go through his discography. He started off with this dark R&B stuff in Trilogy, but his other albums all sound a bit distinct - like his album "Starboy" which is a lot more pop than R&B influenced etc. Chronological order: Trilogy - a must listen as this is what makes Weeknd a standout in my view, darker sounding with aggressive themes (drug, sex, love, cheating etc), it's a certified classic for me Kissland - honestly, I have heard a lot of mixed reviews on this from friends and critics alike so I'll just ask you to listen to this one - you may either like it a lot or won't , but as I said before, this has a different "sound" from Trilogy Beauty Behind Madness - you can hear more pop influences coming in now but it still has some darker Weeknd vibes here, great album for both Weeknd fans and even commercially Starboy - a lot more pop influenced now My Dear Melancholy - very dark and "sad" as this was when Abel broke off from his relationship with Selena (and Bella Hadid? not sure about Bella), darker and more like Trilogy here After Hours - most recent one, and very interesting as you can tell Abel is maturing and growing old - regrets, guilt, responsibility etc Honestly, his whole discography is great, I personally think Starboy was his worst album and even then, Starboy wasn't that bad.
