The skull intergrated with the bat for Avenged Sevenfold is their logo...the Deathbat and the fans are also known as Deathbats as well...you should check out an entire Rock Am Ring performance by them...preferably one of the longer ones since there are a couple that are less than an hour...but the longser ones are worth your while and you'll be immersed into them... the original members are all friends...lead vocal is Matt Shadows, bass is Johnny Christ, lead guitar is Synyster Gates, rhythm is Zacky Vengance and the original drummer was "The Rev" Jimmy Sullivan...every now and then in their songs they'll play his part in the particular song as it comes over the loud speaker...Rev passed away and they do that in his honor at every concert A few more good songs to listen to by A7X *Avenged Sevenfold* are Seize The Day...ya gotta watch the music video, Afterlife, Unholy Confessions, Dear God, A Little Piece of Heaven (not what you may think lol), Almost Easy, Scream, Beast and the Harlot, Buried Alive, The Stage, God Damn, Save Me, Tonight The World Dies, God Hates Us, Critical Acclaim...those are the ones I can think of right now...there are more that are ALL just as hard as these by Sevenfold

Idk about everyone else but the gift of metal being dark is that it allows me to vent out the negativity. Everyone has “dark” thoughts, feelings, and energy. It’s just a natural side-effect of this world. When someone gets you amped to fight them but you can’t fight them(at work, public event, etc) you have all this energy stored inside of you so you walk it off, run, workout or something. With metal you let that shit out by jumping, head banging, moshing, and it’s a powerful feeling when everyone around you is releasing that energy from themselves and giving it back to the band as they are giving us all they have. When you mentioned seeing them live you were spot on. Saw them back in 2016 when they opened for Metallica and the whole stadium LIT UP. Something about that opening guitar got every single person who was in GA shoving to the front as much as possible and we all were singing with them! This is one of those songs you have to listen to on the *BIG* system. Preferably live. The drums will kick the air straight from your lungs with every hit and your heart will follow the beat. You're physically unable to stand still and you're surrounded by hundreds, if not thousands, of like-minded people, all jumping, head-banging and singing along. ... Man, I miss going on concerts...
