That simple trick with expanding the gradient box for color swatches blew my mind. The rest of the tutorial was fantastic but that particular trick just saved me so much time on so many projects, thank you thank you thank you!!

I can't believe how advanced illustrator has become. I have used it from 1.0, it's insane now what you can come up with. I had to use filters to do some of this but not quite as well.

I made this last night! Came out really cool. Only question is even when i used clipping mask in the last it did remove all the extra work outside the artboard but was still showing up when i exported in .jpeg. I then used save for web option because then we can clip to artboard. But how do i use just clipping mask and get rid of everything else outside of artboard? i've had this problem before too. please answer.

great tutorial. but when I did the drop shadow (which took forever to load...why?), my shadows did not end up as deep as yours. all my measures are the same. is that the x and y offset? what should i do?
@CreativeClaws6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Kevin0kura I think Your artboard size is big. So minimize your artboard size. My artboard size is 8x8inch, If you follow this size ratio then your artwork will be perfect.
@designsbyhiroki6 жыл бұрын
thank you, that makes sense. i believe my artboard was 1080×1350pt

Hi! Does anybody know how to add "thickness effect" for such kind of "paper layers"? Thanks.
@adhamgaber4625 жыл бұрын
after you've done everything in the video, export the artwork as a png then move to photoshop create a new layer above the artwork, convert it to a smart object then apply filter called noise, adjust its settings until you're happy with the result. lastly reduce the opacity of the smart object layer and voila you're done.

Hi @ehsan asgari I think your File(Page size) is too big, reduce your page size than try to drop shadow. My file size is 6x6inch.

Hi, I'm glad that my video is helpful to you. Regarding your query, I had previously drawn the fish outline. Whenever it was required I used it, like in minute 16:12 Keep following for more.
@jackiegilbert41636 жыл бұрын
Honestly, its pretty easy if you screenshot it on your computer and then trace it with the pen tool. I have a Mac so to screenshot it I used command+shift+4 and selected the area of the fish on the video. Hope that helps!

The video was very nice but sir as you mention about the tutorial it was very hard to understand the tutorial... It was just like, that you were making a design for your own. It would be better if you mention the tools while drawing, it must be define to make the viewer understand ...

Nice tutorial with creativity, but you need more practice as for how to expand your gradients, when need to use ctrl+y to view outline preview for joint paths or find your fish and also know about average options for the path to make your rectangle shape clean without clipping mask. Sorry for say these. Ok keep practicing and give us more creative work. Thanks

Honestly, I LOVE the artwork, but being that it's a tutorial, it's nearly impossible to follow along without prompts or narration. You don't offer instructions for anything. In the future perhaps you can offer some guidance in your videos.
@HowtoGraphicDesign6 жыл бұрын
to be honest making a video with a good quality audio is alot harder than making a video without it, and most of the internet don't mind it these days, buy if you are having trouble, then I think you should follow some beginners tutorials first, to get your creative feet wet.

just some text captions would be a more helpful I think, to see what tool you are clicking better without having to go full screen
@kristenfranks58256 жыл бұрын
Something that would help when you do make captions would be to place the text near your cursor. My screen is large enough (poor me, right?) that I often can't see them both at the same, so I can either choose to watch what you're doing, or read the text, but it would be nice to be able to do both. I loved the video, very cool effect!!
