I love your videos - simple, basic, explanatory, educational. And you don't talk and talk, endlessly repeating yourself like so many others do. And there's NO CATS! : ) Thanks for this!

Like a lot of people I started out painting with acrylic craft paints. Contrary to what a lot of people say, I think they're far from useless. They're particularly good for layering and the weak pigmentation can give an almost translucent effect. I use paints a lot for colouring drawings where most people might use coloured pens or pencils and I do a lot of layering there. You can't really layer pen, but with paints you can get marvellous stippled effects,...

Nice effects. What's a glazing medium? Is it the same as a glossy medium? Opacity effects look nice. They can have this kind of mysterious effect to art.

How did you do this?? I put a layer of black paint over dried red paint, but when I scratched at it, you couldn’t see the red underneath. And when I scratched harder, it just went through the paper hahah

Thanks for posting - in the exanple of paint + matte medium, what was the ratio? 50/50 ? Or was it mixed by dipping the brush in the paint and then diping the brush in the matte medium?

hi, could you tell me please are those paints you are using ''fluid acrylics''? i would love to make a painting using a build up of translucent layers. (is this glazing?) i recently got a little set of golden heavty body paints and i wish now i hadve bought the fluid instead. but do you think i could thin the heavy body acrylics to make them translucent and what medium i would use to do this? thanks a million
@vintagevanity452 Жыл бұрын
I wish she answered the questions. I to have been producing epic fails in my attempts to do abstract art. I had no idea I had to buy transparent paints and all my paints are acrylic medium to heavy body paints. Would love to thin mine to with a medium . I also need to know what that little roller is called that she is using to pull off the heaviness of the paint layer ! Were you able to find out about a possible way to thin out standard acrylic paint by chance ?

I bought 14 industrial fans to blow on my painting while I am painting so the paint will dry super fast! (Less waiting time) Do you know why my paper keeps flying away while I am working on it? No one ever told me that if you fix one problem it might create another. How come no one ever told me this? I feel so betrayed right now.
