Exactly and that's why he's are fast becoming my fav reactor. 💜 BTS has genius lyrics, they are super intelligent and that's why there are so many explained videos to get context because their lyrics are layered like s*** also that's why they have such a diverse fanbase in age. And passionate ARMY. Western culture has to get over their looks, the racism and Kpop stereotypes too truly understand how next level they are to many current famous musicians. It's like trying to convince the world how Stevie Wonder is a musical genius but folks can't get over that he's blind and dimiss him. They are artists in every sense of the word and create genius musicial art. Ddaeng is another rapline song that has layers and yes, it will need dkdktv explained again on that one too.

Just a sombre note on what is referred to at 17:17: South Korea has the 10th highest suicide rate in the world and clearly KPOP stars are not exempt from that. To name a couple, Sulli (fx) and Goo Hara (Kara). BTS no doubt knew some of those victims directly, including Kim Jonghyun ❤️ from SHINee - there are videos of them goofing about in the dressing room backstage, and then later attending his funeral in 2017 ... A sad note but it goes to show that BTS are not making vague references here, they will have been hit hard emotionally and intimately.

You can check out individual introduction videos of the members to learn their names faster. Btw at the part "take another's life" david was talking about some kpop idols who made the harsh decision of taking their own lives in 2019 because of the online hate they received for years. I'm not saying cyber bullying was the only reason they did that but it surely was 1 of the major reasons. You might think netizens and kpop fans learnt from those incidents but they didn't. Still a lot of idols get flooded with hate comments for barely breathing.

I am not sure if you are aware of this, but BTS donated 1 million dollars to BLM last year, then Army matched that within 24 hrs. As the mother of two Black men about your age and a life long hip-hop fan that meant a lot to me. If you should react to Ddaeng by the rapline I would suggest just reacting to the DKDKTV explained with it. That track is straight genius. Outro Tear as well.

You have the rare quality of being able to set your ego aside to really learn! I have a new place to look for explanations of Korean culture when I know I’m lost culturally, linguistically. Thanks for doing this. I hear various comments from some reactors (that I’ve given up on) because they can only relate to American cultural references; anything else is flotsam. Really enjoyed this. Thank you!

I have tried a few of the American reactors as well but well... they sort of hypersexualize the members with a lot of pausing and heavy breathing. One American was told by his viewers that JK was Underage in the video he was watching and being explicit about and he said "sorry not sorry." It was rather disturbing. JK was International Age was 15 in No More Dream video.

"I just know they aren't saying poop"😂😂😂 I really enjoyed that you took the time and also just how personable you are.😘 As for the haters, it just kills me that they think they would be happy if they were idols, most of them couldn't handle the 14-16 hours a day dancing, the grinding tour schedule, the training leading up to debut. 7 guys living in one tiny room and basically having everything planned for you and not getting to see your family. They have no idea of the sacrifices these guys go through. Most people couldn't handle the paparazzi. They forget the amount of work and rejection and only see the final product. And BTS seems so incredibly well adjusted and wants to help people, just amazing. Drives me crazy. Anyway, sorry for the rant. Being creative is just so darn difficult sometimes. I'm so happy that you watched this! Anger has played a bigger part in their careers then people know. Bang PDnim founded Big Hit Music because he didn't like the way the Kpop idols were being treated. Big Hit Entertainment's motto, before it turned into HYBE, was "Music and Artist for Healing." He has talked about how the anger he felt over how the industry did things is what motivated him to try and change things and create in his own company. I like that BTS acknowledges that there are some things that we should get angry at, and that anger should drive us to make changes for the better. So Toney, little brother, how about you watch an intro vid on BTS. I promise you once you watch one, there are a few really good ones I know have been mentioned in the comments. Things like the Black Lives Matter movement are exactly what are on my mind when I listen to this song. There are so many agents of regressive behavior in media and culture at large (kardashians, ideals of toxic masculinity. internalized and external misogyny, etc) and certain self-serving political parties using hate and fear to rev up the common populace and pit them against each other. When Obama was elected the first time, I had about 5 min of hopefulness because he spoke about activism as an everyday behavior - but the average person is so apathetic and nothing changed. Jeezus that just depressed the hell out of me! RM and Wale's Change is a great track for bringing a little hope. They are both poets. Wale - "I see hope via my daughter's eye" RM - "I see some grass growing in Winter's eye."

And I can already tell that you truly respect them as artists and people. So for that, THANK YOU 🙏 Rest assured... You’re doing great! Don’t be afraid to mess up every now and again, it happens when you’re learning! I recommend checking out: 1. Ddaeng, listen to the song through and through, and then check out the “Explained” video. 2. IDOL 3. Outro Tear (rapline song - the live performance is 🔥) 4. Daechwita by Agust D - Suga’s solo work

11:21 when i just got into bts the way i finally remebered their names was by reminding myself that with the rap line, suga has more of a round face with smaller eyes, RM has quite a v shaped jawline with an up pointing nose, and J-Hope has a sharp nose and big eyes

Great. It’s cool the way you initially grasped the essence and wanted to explore the lyrical cleverness. You might enjoy Ddaeng too, but do your initial take first. DKDKtv has an analysis of that as well

Wow, you’re really out here doin’ the work. Killin’ it. We really appreciate the time and effort, especially since many people, especially the western industry, think they are just a boy-band with crazed teenage fangirls🙄. I remember being a baby army, when I finally figured out who was who they would change their hair or their concept, and it was a bit back to the basics. Soon you’ll see a shadow and know “oh that’s Suga” 🤣💜.

Please, stop saying he should watch introductions to the members, he is really good! He hasn't seen any solo song yet and recognized 5 out of 7 members. I think it's better if he comes to know them by their music and style first. Furthermore, I haven't seen any of those videos presenting them by their characteristics as artists, but by others related to their relationship among them or with ARMY, like funny, cute, handsome, etc.

I love that this song needs to be said into today society, and why some people need to understand there is so much hate in this world. And that BTS is only a small part that is opening up about what they can show the positive outlook on what we need. Look at ARMYs from all over the world are working to help that along. Yes their are going to be over zealous ones, but true ARMYs show positive impacts.

The rap line are literally lyrical geniuses. Not only do they use intricate wordplay that can be taken a dozen different ways in their native language, they also intertwine that with other languages like English and Japanese. There's just so many different takes and hidden meanings in every single one of their Korean songs, every time you read the lyrics you come up with a different conclusion as to what they're saying. And they have said before that they want us to interpret things our own way.

Maybe you can do it in one video. Also the live version ([BANGTAN BOMB] BTS PROM PARTY : UNIT STAGE) is soo nice!! They are really feeling it. Also you were absolutely right, when you were talking about celebrities being depressed/suicidal. You're exactly the kind of reactor that ARMYs get so excited about, 'cause you actually are looking at the purpose behind the music, which is a big part of why ARMY is so dedicated to BTS, and why we consider ourselves to be part of the team. Our suggestions are just our enthusiasm and joy at finding a fellow traveler and wanting to share the journey with you.

I don't care how thick their skin has gotten they are still young humans trying to find their way. At the end of the day there is only so much one person can take. My mother tongue is Spanish, I really like the music from BTS, but then I got into this rabbit hole and I'm trying to understand the meaning behind the songs. I'm not into hip hop but I found these lyrics really interesting when the real translation came into my mind, even though I have a double translation. I really understand what you mean when you say, it would be easier to hear what they meant in my own language but I have lived all my life trying to understand other languages, not only English. I can even say that is really nice that Americans can have that struggle too. And btw I think you are very clever in your comments, it took me many attempts to get what you have in just one shoot.

You're doing great, Sweetie 💜 The more explanation videos you watch and the more you search for BTS's hidden meanings within each video (plus learning more about the song lyrics, the members, the band, the agency, the fandom, the K-Pop industry, Korean culture and history), the more you will enrich your experience and journey within this amazing group of humble young men. Thank you for taking the time to savor each moment and for your willingness to learn about things that are outside of our typical American mindset. And thank you for creating your BTS playlist. Make sure all of your BTS related videos are listed (I think you're missing a few). And make sure they are in chronological order. New Armys to your channel like to go through the BTS playlist and see your natural progression as you watch more videos (instead of scrolling through all of your videos to find and watch them). Also, on your future videos, let the new Armys to your channel know that you have a BTS playlist where they can go and watch all of your BTS related videos. Thanks again!! Have a great holiday weekend!

Not that I won't watch your other reaction vids, Toney, but I like to do one rabbit hole at a time and "follow the progression" -- apparently I'm neurodiverse or whatever, but that's what works for me. So, thanks @Jill Hollon, for the "natural progression" comment (consider it stolen), and thanks, Toney, for the playlist!

I like your comments so much. If just all people were so open minded. Many of their songs have so many layers that we can't understand alone, that's also why ARMY is a community. For example, there is a famous video from an Italian ARMY about "Spring Day"'s MV and lots of Korean people thanked her very much because they wouldn't have understood all of this without her great investigation. And don't worry that you'll be able to recognize Suga and J-Hope soon, their styles are totally different. Please, keep commenting because you have interesting things to say.

No wonder you looked familiar to me.. I was just looking up Eminem reactions and came across your other video. It's nice to see you reacting to BTS too and because I know you appreciate lyricism (from seeing you break down the Eminem song).. I know you'd appreciate the layers in BTS music too. The rappers in BTS are really influenced by Eminem. They have mentioned Em in their interviews from time to time and also he was the first non-Korean artist that they went to see in concert when they were teenagers. If you want to listen to their story of how they got into hip-hop through a song, you should check out "Hip Hop Lover" (or Hip Hop Phile) by BTS. There is a lyric video for it.

Great reaction! I love how you're so responsive to suggestions in the comments. Just as a quick note, in Korean, there really isn't a curse word associated with poop. Koreans have their own curse words, and there really is nothing for poop. So "shit" doesn't exist in Korean. Koreans WILL use the English word (in fact, it's one of J-Hope's favorite curse words, and he uses it ALL the time - you'll see ^^), but there is no Korean equivalent for it. So when you see the word "shit" translated from Korean, that is because the translator is simply using the proper word based on context, and like you said, "poop" doesn't sound right in that context, "shit" does. But in Korean, the word remains the same whether you're saying you had a poop, or the shit is about to hit the fan. The "foulness" of it is really determined entirely by context. Much of Korean language and vocabulary is like that - the meaning of the word changes based on the context.
