Absolutely use a bar. Pushing with the excavator to much risk. If your pipe isn’t straight you can roll the gasket inside

⁠​⁠@@massfreak1use a grade rod to calculate the difference between every 200 feet off survey stakes then raise each pipe up a 5 hundredths or so untill you can run straight to grade of the next stake there’s no reason to send a pipe home uneven cuz your grade is too high. Bigger pipe is higher risk to roll a gasket due to it being uneven.
