I am genuinely blown away. Knopfler is the reason I started playing guitar, and I thought this would be a funny parody. Nope. At several points I forgot you weren’t covering a Dire Straits song. Your tone, your accents and flourishes all feel so true to knopfler, and the drums and vocals fit perfectly as well. Kudos, man.

Honestly, started this as a hate watch because I love Dire Straits, and can't hear Layla without hearing Ray Liotta saying "when they found Carbonne in the back of the meat truck, it took em three days to thaw him out just to do the autopsy." I'm a bit of a fan of both. This, Sir, was brilliant: a truly wonderful reimagining of a wonderful song in the style of another wonderful song.
