Great looking coke cars. Fun fact: I haul coal into clairton works, in clairton pa, by truck, which is blended to make the coke you model. The union rr normally delivers 1 or 2 coke trains to csx a day, which is then shipped west. Keep in mind a prototypical csx coke train consists of regular hoppers, extended hoppers, and the unique "coke express" hoppers.

Thats awesome! I will go look that up. Before I started, I did research on Coke Trains and have a ratio list of the different type of Coke cars. I'm working on the extended sides and regular cars now. I haven't filmed too much of the regular cars I decaled but maybe I need to. I want someone to come out with the "coke express" hoppers as I can't kit bash that, then I want someone to come out with the brown PMRX decaled ex-KCS so I can add those to the train. I have 3 woodchip hoppers I also need to cut down to create a few of the prototype ones.

Nice modeling of a common New Castle Sub train! I had wanted to build some of those coke hoppers myself, so it's cool to see someone else doing it. Last time I caught a coke express was just before New Years, with 2 CN units trailing

Thats awesome. I no longer live near the sub so only KZbin videos or my model of it is what I can see!

Thanks! I'm excited to final get at least one of the ABC Sw1500 done and on the layout but it's a lot of work and I don't want to mess it up!

Great work! How did you get such fine / thin lines for your graffiti? Looks very real... Are you using a colored pencil, or a paint marker or pen?
@CSXNSModelFan6 ай бұрын
I used gel pens for white graffiti. The colored graffiti was acrylic paint using an atlas 10/0 brush and a lot of patience!

Love the coal loads, where did you purchase them from??
@CSXNSModelFan9 ай бұрын
I created a 3D file of 6 different shapes and resin 3D printed them. Then I painted them black and added this stuff I bought from amazon that looks like realistic coke. Look at my Facebook page as I usually explain stuff more there. "CSX New Castle Sub Model Railroad" facebook.com/profile.php?id=61550891830092

Why don't you like every piece of rolling stock stock & standard?
@CSXNSModelFan9 ай бұрын
Trust me I much rather buy standard rolling stock and just weather. The issue with this is no manufacturer makes this car or the paint scheme I want to model the correct train on my layout. So hence custom and since I have to customize it, it doesn’t add that much more work to full customize everything.
