I first met Tim in Kindergarten at Sunflower Elementary School in Glendora. I don't remember our first conversation, but I'm sure it involved trains. Tim gave me my love of trains and model railroading (and my first kitten!). He opened his heart and house to so many model railroaders. He is greatly missed. R.I.P. my friend...

I didn't realize he had passed away and I recall this sense of loss when hearing of modelers I grew up admiring during my active modeling years in 80's and 90's. Such modelers are far and few between... You were quite fortunate indeed to capture all of this beautifully detailed layout that was not only superb in appearance but also exceptionally interesting from an operating standpoint. The old Alcos, first and second generation power (a hodge-podge after the merger, of course), the lighting (from overall to the signs and signals) were simply incredible. Thanks for sharing this.
@dennisjones89912 жыл бұрын
The audio for this is amazing. To catch this, Tim must have been either a railroader or a very active modeler. The way the sounds are represented are mind blowing, from the sounds of notch 8, the air "snaps", air horns and the dynamic brake noises of the locos, though the high pitched whine of metal upon metal in the curves along with the rumble of empty cars and the rattle of wheels across the jointed track. Love this! I worked as a crew transporter for BNSF, UP and Amtrak and smaller roads in the Pacific NW.

Back about 1990 on a siding track north of Lebanon , OHIO(ex PRR) rested a locomotive that was used for switching the line. It was a "pure" BN RS11. No alteration of the paint job at all. Have often wondered what ever happened to it. For many years former C&O GP7 operated this line. I&O GP 7 55 is the oldest operating GP 7 in the USA.
