Yes. The inside of the roof is all painted black. I hate seeing light leaks. Gives away the illusion in my eyes. Took some time, but worth the effort. All illuminated with the Woodland Scenics Just Plug system.. thanks for the kind words!!

I don't know how old that Kentucky Fried Chicken model is, but I bought one of them back in 1985...and I did light it, but looking at what YOU did with it, I'm definitely gonna have to go back and upgrade the lighting. As for the sign and bucket, I never did get them lit. The only suggestion I could come up with would be to drill out the tiny "lights" on the arrow, and see if you can get an LED between the two sides of the sign, and then seal it around the edges, to prevent light from escaping where it shouldn't. As for lighting the bucket, you'd almost have to cast another bucket out of clear resin (?), put the LED inside, and paint the top and bottom of the bucket black, so the light only shines through the decal. (In other words, there's a reason I have never attempted to light the sign to this point.)

All of that is why the sign is not lit yet. That is what I came up with too, but didn’t want to do that much.. but will likely have to do it. And the bucket could possibly be made with clear styrene. The decal is in the kit, just cut the styrene to match the decal. Good advice and yes. That is a classic older kit.. but fun to do. Thanks!

nice looking layout ..The KFC kit origionaly had all the stripes painted for many years then recently found out it was maostly white so its sad that my last Kit was mostly white

Huh. I had never had one before so I was a tad surprised. But not shocked. Cost was probably a big factor. Oh well, I’m happy with the way mine turned out.. was a relatively easy kit.. Thanks for watching!

Nice update…love what you did to the KFC…just finished painting my KFC roof this week and starting to add soffit lighting…what did you use for the roof floods and where’d you get your interior booths? Neighborhood with hose overlooking the tracks is neat…railfanners relaxing on the lounge chairs and grilling…

The booths? Are actually a Rivarossi Dining car interior seating I cut to model my UP dining car interiors more accurately. So I just reused them here painted in the same red as the striped. 🤫 The floods are in the kit. I just drilled them out and installed 0402 wires LEDs in a cool white color. Then hid the wiring in their mounting holes. And that house on the tracks is a ode to some friends of mine that own a house on the UP line in Cheyenne. 👍. And a MiniPrints smoker is certainly in their future once the neighborhood is done! Thanks for the kind words.
