I think what is most impressive is your ability to evolve the scene in line with your vision and skillset. You aren't afraid to reconfigure and repurpose previous work that cost you a lot of manhours as you know it will serve the layout better in the long run. A very commendable and inspiring attitude towards any project!

This is like watching Grand Designs after fitting a flat packed kitchen - its good for humility! Fortunately, the work of a craftsman can be admired by someone with basic skills, even if they can't replicate it. This layout is stretching the boundaries of what can be achieved and is a pleasure to watch.

Nice to see another update. Some great changes done to that branch line, made a huge difference! Tankers are a pain to paint and to get that look spot on.. I've got it covered in a recent silver bullet video, features how to create that heavy brown dirt effect that those and many other pieces of rolling had coated on them. Could be a good pointer when you come to do the ferry vans.

All I can say is “Stunning” I am a very new joiner to this world after many years of static modelling, 12th and 24th scale car building and war hammer figures! I haven’t read all of the comments on all of the Everard videos, but one thing that also adds to the videos, for me anyway, is the totally modest, while remaining so professional voice of Everard! You could do voiceovers for books! I could listen all day! As for the layouts, engine work, scenery, it is all just fantasmagorical sir! Hats off to the Hornby series!….. Let’s have an Everard Junction TV series too….. Please!….👏👏👏👏

Great to see a new update from you, Richard. Really like what you have sone with the branch line - looks a lot more realistic now. The addition of a juice rail (with section gaps, track isolation switches, traction return cables, (maybe even a substation…?) will be the icing and the candles on the cake! I worked on the railway (S&T Engineering) between 1977 and 2018 and have to say that yours and Mr Watsons (Dean Park) layouts are the pinnacle for “modern image” as regards getting the detail in place and then getting it right. Really enjoy watching the model progress. The new locos are a treat to the eyes, particularly the 47 and the 60. Pleased that you haven’t gone overboard with the weathering and have kept it subtle. But the dmu’s and that lovely 2-EPB are also worthy of comment. They really do look the part. As does the container train and stone wagons. I used to have a model railway many years ago (N gauge, 1969 - 1974 Western Region) but that is all packed away in the loft and is unlikely to see light of day until it gets sold off - other interests and life have got in its way, as they do. But, if I did have a layout, I would be happy if it was to the same standard as yours. Keep up the good work and I look forward to your next update! Best wishes from the Wirral.

“Ah, a new Everard Junction video! I wonder what he’s been up to?” 🤔 My goodness, I was not expecting a whole new facelift for the branch line and reprofiling of the scenery as well as loads of cosmetic work to vast amounts of rolling stock! 😳 Those tankers look excellent and I see what you mean about more prototypical weathering with all the streaks from where the fuel is loaded and the variation from vehicle to vehicle 🤓 The job on the Yeomans is also an absolute winner. Love the rust dappling! I really liked that night shot you did with the train emerging from the branch by the way. Really shows off the overall effect really well 👏 As for the scenery: if you had said the old version wasn’t good enough I’d have said you were being overly harsh. But having seen the end product, I think you were maybe right! The relief profile of the land does look more blended in and natural, and the bridge is excellent though I think the old one was better than you seem to think! 😜 Really good tip about pre-ballast ing track before installing it under brides too BTW. Obvious when you think about it but not glaringly obvious until you’ve already gone too far! 😅 Just a little aside: I seem to recall there was a wee fiddle yard for the branch line (I think the end of it slipped into view right at the end of the video) so I that still linked up to the loop or abandoned now? 🤔 Great stuff mate, really enjoyed that. Inspiration for anyone that ‘oohs-and-ahhhs’ about whether to redo something they aren’t happy with 🍻🍀👍

You should have some allotments in that field as a bit of a nod to the old layout. And maybe a second road by the station (Magnorail or not) with an area to display your buses. As for the points in the station, I think some heavy weathering will take care of it.

Mmmpph, you'll need a 3rd rail on the branch if you're going to use that 2EPB regularly ! (Peco code 60 bullhead rail, which I solder to brass nails as I found the Peco plastic "china" pots broke every time you clean the track !) One other problem with Southern 2 digit headcode stock, post 1964, is that you need two red blanks on the rear of the train, as the Southern didn't require tail lamps on Post 1951 design EMU's, from this date, which includes your blue EPB ! This does present a bit of a problem, if you are just shuttling and EMU back & forth !!! Two white blanks at the front of a train was normally only used for a short movement such as the platform to a carriage siding, otherwise a Numeric headcode was required. Indeed Bachmann didn't think about that... Your new layout is coming along nicely, happy modelling.

Nicely done Richard, like the 33 too. I've moved away from British n gauge now - gone over the pond so to speak and the variety of rolling stock available for US/Canada far outstrips what's available for the UK, even in N but there is a huge range of factory weathered/graffiti-ed products, comes with a cost I know but am a lot happier running these with Tier 4 Gevos, SD70s and Dash 9s than I was with having the 47, 56, 60 and 66s etc

Looking really good there. When you do eventually get round to the 3rd rail on the branch, how about also fitting a check rail to the inside of the curve? Possibly because you are looking down onto the brachline more so than the main lines above it, the curve - whilst looking much more realistic than before - seems much sharper than the main lines, hence it would benefit from a checkrail. By the way, what track are you using?
