"Newspaper is made of paper." Truly words of wisdom. I've been really enjoying your content. I found your channel a few days ago, and have been binge watching this series. It's basically nullified any worries I had about landscaping when I start my layout. Keep up the cracking work and stay safe!

Very reassuring to see that you wing it like the rest of us. Because of the high quality of your modelling I had assumed it was all carefully planned with no errors and all perfect first time. Very interesting and enjoyable.

Brilliant and so inspirational, the illusion created by the branchline disappearing under the mainline is a 100% success. Having a break from a project or hobby is important sometimes enforced is not a bad thing, remember it’s a hobby Look after yourself Eltel (Terry)

Superb work. The bridge and embankment cutting looks great and the optical illusion of the line disappearing is inspiring. Thanks for taking the time to put the video together to show how it’s all done.

That attention to detail that you have really makes the difference between a good model and a minature copy of the real thing. Well done. I know I'm going to follow some of your thoughts, even if my actual craftwork will never be as good as you.

That was most enjoyable to watch. The bridge looks great and looks most natural. Giving that illusion that the branch line continues straight is a stroke of genius. 43 minutes of pure Everard magic. Keep well, Clint

Fantastic bit of work there. Your thought train (no pun intended) really ends up with a small bit of the scenery that looks just like real life - as does your whole layout. Thanks for the time taken to create these videos as they are so enjoyable to watch.

Nice one Richard, well worth waiting for. The scenic illusion on the branch works a treat. Love the way the branch snakes it's way down from the main line. Typical, waited ages for the 117 then it comes when we're dealing with furlough! Fab model but a bit out of reach at moment, maybe they'll do another run if this lot sells through. Looking forward to the next one, regards Bobby 'T'.

One detail that would change it so much more is leaking water stains from the rails and the hillside above down the brick walls on enterance and inside the tunnel. And a few cheeky graffiti on the walls from yobbos but it’s stunning work edvard true inspiration

Welcome back. Love the "upgrade" on the bridge overpass. As someone utterly ignorant of UK trains, I always love stories and backgrounds of train models like a 117, and any vid you do is great, but only if it fits what you're doing. I myself have been off work since March 23, and finally get back this week. I hope you and yours have stayed safe. Cheers.

Thanks, I'll see if I can sort something regarding the 117. I was fortunate in being able to return to work in May. Hope getting back into it goes well for you. Strange having that much time off work!
@ModelTrainOutsider4 жыл бұрын
@@EverardJunction I hate to bother you, but I do hope you see this and can reply with a "yes.". I would like your "approval." We are doing a parody song, and we want to title it "Everard Junction." The song is to the tune of The Beatles "Paperback Writer," and it was just kismet that your channel/layout name fit the rhythm perfectly. It is not a parody of you, but a funny view of a KZbin model train fan wanting to emulate you. (Much like the song itself is about a guy wanting to be a paperback writer). We've done a lot of parody songs mixing comic lyrics with classic pop/rock songs online lately, but as you are the first actual KZbin channel we have named, we didn't want to do it without you either approving or at least having been warned. I realize you are a very busy and private person, but have also shown a great sense of humor and intuitive humor as well. We had no other way to get in contact, so I thought I would try here. We would never do anything derogatory about any channel or person. It's just that your name came up as soon as we started the lyrics and it fit to the song perfectly, and we courteously ask if you would mind us going forward with the video.

Hi Richard, glad to see and hear you, it’s been awhile but these are unusual times and we are willing to wait, even though some of us are a little pushy. Interesting the warehouse building in a couple of shots it looked very convincing, and appeared to have a roof line fitted. Also the branch tunnel turned out great, even a bit of perspective, planned of course. Regarding your reviews, yes a lot of channels are out there, but yours far surpass them in contain, and depth review detail. This update was definitely worth the wait, thanks for sharing.

Great job again Richard,like the way the branch flows on the layout. Like the idea of the concrete supports, however you could do a mini version of the bird cage at Road cutting on the WCML. Also the for ground area in the front of bridge might be a nice location for some kind of disused railway infrastructure. Something like an old signal box for example . Just a couple of ideas but great so far once again and looking forward to next video.

I grew up watching my Father build and design his layout, we had a 5k sq ft home, he used 3/4 of the basement for his layout, bout 1200 sq ft, monstrous layout, the control panel looked like a cockpit of a big airplane lol, he could run 4 engines with bout 10 -15 cars each at same time, two huge rail yards with 2 turntables, an island in the middle with a lake, and tons of bridges and tunnels, 4 underground tracks etc, it was huge. he was really good at doing scenery and after watching you I think he could have done some work like yours, wished I had pictures of his layout, it was considered the largest HO setup in the pacific northwest back in the 60's. Don't mean to go on bout his layout but thought I would tell you how he did his hillsides to make them look like rough terrain, maybe you might be interested in trying it. So after he laid the plywood, he would take newspaper sheets and crumple them up into various size balls, and staple them to plywood, then mix up some plaster in a bread pan, take individual sheets of paper towels and soak them in plaster then lay them over the balls of newspaper, let dry, really looks like a rough terrain, when dry he would mix up instant coffee in a bowl with some water, take a sponge and dab the mixture all over the dry terrain making it look like real ground, then add some sand or little pieces of shrubs or trees scraps he would find in the yard to make bushes and trees, and it looked very realistic, you can change the shade of coffee to make it light or darker. I enjoyed helping him do this and I hope you can use this idea if you dont already do it or know about it, looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Looks brilliant to me. Going for a straight on cutting rather than showing the branch curving away is certainly the better idea. My only worry is where the 'dummy' branch meets the backscene. That could be covered by the reinforcement that your planning to put in but if not I'd suggest a brick farm track overbridge. Spanning from the top of one 'hill' to the other in low relief.
