there is a bug in CTB where when you spam left and right button, and pressing the Skip button, the Catcher will yeet itself to edge of the playfield. Found this out because i spam left and right to warm up my hand everytime i play

That's not really a bug it's more about how skip work i guess. And no need to spam left and right, just move while pressing skip button. The catcher continue to move in the skipped time instead of not moving, that's why he end up hitting walls.

Maybe there should be another "mod" for this and other playstyles, cause I was thinking if mobile with touchpen + tapping should have one, maybe that one would use the same as the mod for Bonks playstyle, both are basically "drag on screen on touch device but tap separately". Could simply be called TDT "touchdevice + tap" and have like 50% of the nerf compared to normal TD. Meanwhile mobile without separate tapping would be TD as well.

That hud accuracy font is straight pain for the eyes to read imo. Seems like the angle changes are too aggressive and the stroke thickness is too low. Making the edges slightly rounded + making the stroke thicker would make it MILES easier on the eyes and improve quick readability.

One of the biggest Issues I have with OSU lazer mobile is that (and maybe it’s just me) is when tapping if your finger drifts towards your tapping fingers at all it will cancel out the tapping completely

I'm still a bit bummed-out about the orientation being locked to landscape. Imo it would be more comfortable if players could choose the orientation they are more comfortable with (heck, I'd even take an opt-in setting that tells me this could potentially break the UI). The song select layout could be fixed by putting the info at the top half of the screen and the songs at the bottom half (aka dividing the UI horizontally instead of vertically). Regardless, I'm glad mania can be played now.

I'm actually not too sure about having the touchscreen detection be so sensitive. Some people might say that it's a cheesy playstyle, but I would argue that the way bonk plays with touchscreen, more as a substitute for tablet rather than a game breaking jump destroyer, is fairly innocuous and shouldn't have a touchscreen nerf applied to it, the same way stable currently doesn't detect it as touchscreen. Perhaps something to think about and debate over. Thanks for the update video as always :)

I second this. Actually, in regards to mobile, it would be nice to be able to scale down the play area (i.e. artificial tablet area) if you were to use say a stylus on a larger phone screen.

On mobile phones at least, the aim buff you get with touchscreen (talking about using a stylus in a drag style) is kinda nerfed by the fact the CS is so small.

You can't deny the fact that touchscreen will ALWAYS have an advantage over tablet/mouse players when it comes to hitting large jumps. For TD-players, it isn't even a challenge. They should have a pp nerf and it's been this way for years. However, I would suggest letting players that are using a stylus to be exempted from the pp nerf (as long as they don't touch anywhere else on the screen from the cursor). As you said, they're playing the game like using a large tablet.

Imo I feel like there shouldn’t really be any nerfs in place if a player were to drag. The thing is, it’s very tiring for your arms to aim things like full-screen jumps even at NM bpm and it’s not a viable play style at the very top level. I play with this play style and the most I could get was a high 200pp play.

Mobile mania could be improved if your whole screen was divided equally into four sections (for 4k) or up to 7 sections that you can tap for each note, while maintaining the same size of the play area. This would make it so much more playable.

For mobile mania, I think that the 2D play field is perfectly fine so long as scroll speed can be used to compensate for the smaller area, which it should be already. VOEZ is a good example of a 2D mania game.

I would also say touchscreen is a whole different idea, and it shouldn't compete against tablet or mouse players, but another leaderboard (if possible) could be implemented for touchscreen players, and then they don't have to get pp nerfed everytime.

Aaw what? The old menu sounds were fantastic! They were so much more tactile! The newer ones sound like I'm filling up a progress bar. Also, reverse sounds are boring IMO, the old ones had their own sounds. I hope they're revertible, or at least skinnable.

On the topic of hitsounds volume, we need some way to force change it if custom beatmap hitsounds are turned off. I personally always use forced 100% volume in mcosu and coming back to stable and playing a beatmap mapped in 20-30% feels horrible. I'm essentially forced to either put my music volume at 15% at most and have half of the song details cut off due to low bitrate or play with barely any audio feedback (I'm a perma-HD player, so it's crucial).

Won't the new touch detection break the game for those touch players that used their finger as a makeshift cursor and then keyboard to tap? I might be wrong on this, but to my knowledge that type of touch gameplay was not detected before, as there were not enough sudden cursor jumps. Now they would be caught under the new system since they use touch as their input. Was this an intended result of this change?

I can no longer fully experience osu! since, as you mentioned, the pp is nerfed when using a touchscreen. It feels like we are isolated to everyone, especially the majority plays on PC or laptop. I want to feel unique and compete with my beloved thumb finger, but achieving that in multiplayer seems impossible now, as the TOUCHSCREEN MOD might nerf scores (I'm not sure if it affects scores too 😅). As a thumb player, it's disappointing. Personally, I'd be fine if only the pp is nerfed, as long as the received scores remain the same.

I'm not that deep, but I always wondered why my FC was often lower than others. That explains a lot. Well, I increased my maximum combo by 40%, but on the other hand I struggle getting perfect combos now. I guess that means I am not finishing sliders accurately.

Awh, not the main menu sounds 😔 I definitely prefer old ones - they felt way more "sharp", "explosive" 💥 and hype, especially the initial click. The immediate high volume somewhat resembled the instant feedback of hitcircles. New ones don't have anywhere as much oomph to them, and of them it's for some reason the last click that is the most powerful and is trailing off for the longest time. They also don't really fit Triangles anymore. Now I can't imagine myself clicking the cookie to the rhythm of a song playing in the background as I jam to it, as I used to do with the old sound effects. And of course, the old sounds have already became somewhat iconic. I do recognize that the new sounds might fit other UI sounds slightly better though. I'd say they need a lot of improvement to match the powerful feel of the old ones. 🙏

as much as i tend to gripe about lazer mania, and as much as i dislike the change of portrait to landscape (if you don't play it you won't know just how much harder this makes it unless you implement 3d plane-esque scrolling like he mentioned), i am happy to see SOME dev efforts being put towards mobile mania. malody is an okay game, but the hit windows (judges) being as loose as a screw with a whole bottle of WD-40 poured on it makes it completely lose respect within the overall vsrg community. having another mobile alternative is ideal, as there are so many more mobile vsrg players than people think, so having an actual viable and playable game being feature-rich is very nice to see

I think the touchscreen modifier shouldn't apply if you're aiming finger doesn't leave the screen, and you only use 1 finger for aim. It's pretty much no different from using a tablet in that case

The touch screen mod is not fair at all. The mod should activate if it detects that the cursor is teletransportating. I play with stylus and tap with my left hand and that's basically playing with full area tablet and keyboard. So hitting the jumps is the same difficulty as playing with full area tablet if the stylus stays on the screen at all times.
