It has 3 modes, In centering mode what it does is send the signal that is right in the center of both ends of signal range. So this is what your radio signal ( pulse width ) should be when your sticks are in the center position. I find it fairly accurate.

helpful video !!!! I was unsure if I was able to use my 3S 2200 mAh LiPo to test my servos with , because the tester states 4.0v - 6.0v range.....but if I understand correctly , as long as I connect the higher voltage LiPo battery through the ESC, it's OK...correct?....thanks

you can build one its a circut with a 555 timer ic

Sure you can if that is what you want to do. But this little tester device does a few more things than a 555 timer alone. I got mine for about £2, quite a bit cheaper than the price quoted here, by ordering it from a Chinese web site. You couldn't build it for that including pcb, and connectors etc. As lazertoys says this tester allows you to test a lot of your RC setup without tears.

I know this is an old video, but I’m trying this now and only get beeps from the motor, no movement. Any ideas? It’s almost as the esc needs to be callibrated first

Hi, Thank you for your in-depth explanation on this device. However it would have been so much better if you had shown what was connected on all of those 3 x 3-pin connector wires (for visual reference). 🤔 Still gave you the thumbs up. ☺
