Any chance you could elaborate on the ABCD checklist you mentioned in the beginning when you "lost" your engine??

+Ryan Burger Hey Ryan, It should actually just be ABC - A- Airspeed (best glide) B- Best field (where you will land) C- Checklist (try to get the engine running) D i suppose could be 'decision', however I only ever learned it as ABC. Hope that helps

Doing my commercial now, steep spirals the most difficult for me. What worked for you?

Yea steep spirals can be tricky.. Vary your bank angle as the wind changes during the turn.. I find that helps me maintain airspeed and over the field
