If you look at this item on the BangGood site they talk about soldering in that capacitor in the event of unit not functioning correctly.

What were the header pins for? If they included the Vcc and God connections, then you could have put the cap in where you were connecting power - seemed a bit odd having the power connections there in the first place...
@johnjamieson76888 ай бұрын
i'm guessing the header pins can be used with something like an arduino to do the different settings instead of using the switches, but not positive.

loving the series, i ended up purchasing the last clock kit myself, will see if I have to order this one too after i've finished watching the video :)

Is this a good first project for a beginner withouth any experience in electronics?

I would suggest something a little more useful like this clock - amzn.to/2gniKYP - It should be a good soldering challenge but hard to mess up with component placement.

Liking the way you find the resistor values - I cannot be bothered to learn the colours too!
@Davedarko7 жыл бұрын
Brian B sometimes they just grow on you - so far 0, 1 and 2 are stored in my brain. for most off the stuff you get along just fine with that. other colours are just funky numbers I have to look up.
@BrazzaB17 жыл бұрын
Yes I suppose I might have to learn, although I will always check with meter.

Wire links *are* the way go with the edge-connector. Makes a much neater and cleaner build. 😄 I tried both ways.

Hello I have a question, what is the jumper wires? Can you give me links where I can buy them? Thanks
@DavidWatts9 ай бұрын
Sure, just the super cheap jumper wires amzn.to/4blHknf they have round ends rather than square so can slot into plated pcb holes more easily than the square ones.

Hey dave, could you say a word about the multimeter you are using? How does it serve you and things like that. Im looking for a new one and I would love to know your opinion on the uni-t brand. Awesome video as always. Thanks!
@DavidWatts7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I am happy with the Uni-t. I can't afford expensive kit and neither can most people. It is a fantastic meter for the price and it lasts a long time on a 9v battery. I wish I had another one in fact.

Awesome, thanks a lot ;)

I had to flux the crap out of the same kit, loads leaks through and makes a really good connection underneath anyway. I had the same left over cap too.

I prefer 15-25 minute videos. Love the content. But if this is your "lazy Sunday" videos, then does that mean it is our "lazier Sunday" videos because we're watching you be lazy? LOL Great work.

The 104 capacitor is next to the 4248 diodes.

That was 4148 diodes

I no its "lazy Sunday afternoon" but please read the colour code first then check with the meter you will be surprised how quick you will find ya don't need the meter and better for beginners........Oh yeah and while I'm at it get the resistors the right way round (pretend their polarized) ya messing with peoples OCD....and another thing, you really oughta ........oh sod it just do ya own thing man!

Who is "take"? I'd like to watch take's videos and time how long they are.
