You just need to complete the pathfinder achievement which is basically do the campaign, and explore each zone :)

Haha yeah mate once you spend the point in the riding tree it gets much easier, you can fly forever if you manage your vigor recharges, it’s just practice really

Another good video. I had a question regarding the Dragon riding though. Obviously the Dragon Isles are designed with the intent for players to use the Dragon Riding mechanic, i've heard theres difficult to reach areas that require a more progressed riding skill. Will this potentially mean they never give us our normal flying mounts in the new zones so as not to make dragon riding redundant? And can we use our Dragons in older zones? my guess is no, but i wouldn't exactly be against the idea of this mechanic replacing normal flying mount mechanic. Something about having some physics tied to the flying is really awesome and could do huge favours for immersion.

Yeah so I think that’s likely gonna be the case too, that they won’t let us use our normal flying mounts on the dragon isles, but then eventually give us the option to use dragon riding mounts in the older zones hopefully. Does make sense cos as toy say, some people would just not dragon ride ever, but you could argue that the player should have the choice, so we shall see!

There’s achievements and I think some of the dragon riding customisations come from them too, and you can do multiplayer ones, definitely more of a mini game for now but I haven’t checked the potential rewards thoroughly to be honest! Hopefully we see some cool stuff come from them but it makes sense for it to be mainly dragon customisations I guess

Yup! I think the saddle colours are a bit harder to unlock and I think some of them come from crafting too, which kinda makes sense :)

You can use them as ground mounts, cant fly on them at the start of the expansion but you may be able to down the line potentially, in a later patch.. although I wouldn’t be surprised if they made us use the dragon riding ones the whole time when we’re in the dragon isles, and maybe added some more than the base 4

What about Druids though? As someone else said earlier, It kinda sucks having to use these mounts and click buttons to fly and stay in the air when Druids can just turn into their own flying mount.. I main a druid and yeah.. Dragon riding is gonna get old fast compared to my Travel form. Give druids a drake form so that they can participate in the system without being forced to use a mount when that runs counter to their class fantasy.

Yeah mate totally feel you on that one because I main Druid too, and the insta flight form is a big reason why I do, because it’s just nice QoL when doing stuff out in the world.. we’ll see what happens and if they let us use normal flying mounts in the dragon isles at some point, then we’ll be sorted

If you level out your mount so it’s flying straight sort of parallel to the floor or aiming a tiny bit downwards, then hold either your left or right key on your keyboard to go in a circle, hope that helps

Basically yeah mate it’s your mount for when you’re in the dragon isles, you can use ground mounts but not other flying mounts so can’t fly as normal like we’re used to. See how you feel after giving it a go mate, you’ll probably get used to it quickly and hopefully enjoy it

Yup, you have to tryhard. It's a lazy trick from blizzard, that fools idiots into thinking it's a "perk". (Some) people are just SO happy with this mechanic, whose sole purpose is to make travel/treasure finding needlessly more difficult and time-consuming. As someone with serious physical disabilities, it honestly sucks. What makes it worse is so much of what you need dragonriding to reach, winds up being impossible to see due to it's teensy size, in addition to leaves and brush and cliffs (deliberate design), causing you to lose too much momentum trying to figure out where the fuck to land. Because there a deliberate design where everything is sharp and pointy, or you slip off, plus you don't have control over when precisely when you stop/land, you overshoot and are generally fucked, winding up parked someplace you don't want to be, that is NOT where you NEED to be, waiting forever for your vigor to increase, so you can try again. Sometimes several times. As a bonus, all the swooping and trying to find a spot to land, while your mount suddenly and rapidly loses steam, makes you completely disoriented, so you have to fuck around with the map, AGAIN, to look for the thing you were originally aiming for. You are guaranteed to no longer (a) be near it, and (b) facing it.

Complete the questlines in azure span (the campaign quests) that have the special ‘shield’ sort of quest icon, just basically following the quests from when you very first get to the dragon isles, you’ll unlock it eventually :)

Ahh that’s because it’s just pre patch at the moment, you actually can’t go back to the waking shores right now, you’ll be able to go to the dragon isles when the expansion fully launches though!

Seems to disjointed - momentum, which is a physics thing, and then it looks like you are merely recharging massive goblin thruster rockets on your dragon. And then landing with minus 100G with no injury taken. And the racing and obstacle coursing also causes some dissonance combined with the 'wing clipping' into the terrain/vegetation.

This is a feature of an Addon I was using where it would save setting of action bars when loggin or phasing PVP or Raid or Specs, I uninstalled Loadout addon or whatever it was and fixed action bar issues I was having

THIS is the only reason I gave wow another look and seeing so many burguet people complaining about « WhY I CaNnOt UsE mY OlD MoUnT iTs sTuPid » is aggravating and the reason I usually stay away from wow. I do hope the do not listen to these players or at least let them use their flying animated object because it sucks ass and is not different from any other MMO and just so you know, nobody cares about your extremely hard to get mount, only you do. You play the game for you and the way you like it but change is good and I’m pretty sure many of these same people will like dragon riding anyways or find excuses for the lack of reasons they find it « bad ». People who have been on wow for those last 12 years have NOT evolved a single bit and AsmonGold (even if I don’t like the dude) is so fucking right saying that when you look at some of the « feedback » it’s a bunch of non sensical reasons because people feel like they should not have their usual MMO change over the years because it makes it « bad », and is the reason y’all made WoW the worst MMO to play since BFA. I welcome changes like these being a player that got over ten years on WoW and many other MMOs such as GW2 who did almost everything right compared to WoW who stayed so stuck in its ways for SO long it was getting sad. To me this is a new era and all these people who cannot stop complaining for shit will surely be gone by the first week because wow has become « woke » or some shit I’ve seen that made me laugh so fucking hard because it’s not why the game was really bad these few years but because the people who complained made the job so hard for devs and the community who wanted to see changes in the gameplay aspect (NOT THE LORE). All I’m saying is it’s sad to see so many of you just not being happy about this because it won’t change ANYTHING at all for you in the long run, I’m sure y’all be able to use your so hard to get mounts and whatever … Y’all just don’t even give a chance to anything because you’re hurt and not ready for your game to evolve while many of us are ready since Legion.

Yeah that’s the only downside of dragon riding really, not being able to get into the air to get to a safe spot while you go afk or check the map etc, gonna be a lot of people hanging around at the top of cliffs I think 😅 time will tell if they’ll bring normal flying into the dragon isles but I don’t think they will

I hate dragonflying, no matter how good you get at it or upgraded it is, it feels like a clunky world quest from BFA that I am forever trapped in. I am not saying it should be easier, I am saying that the mechanic feels like shit and it's not remotely fun, it's obnoxious, inconsistent and clunky feeling to operate. You're all smoking copium bc you're only other choice is to not play a whole expansion.
