When I was in middle school, my father worked on the MWave team at IBM. Every once in a while he would take my brother and me into the lab where they had a huge walk-in closet of video games they used to test the hardware and we would get to "check out" games to take home and play for a few weeks. I hadn't thought about that in years and seeing you unbox that MWave card reminded me. Good times, terrible card.

34:04 I think you nailed the sound Dr. Robotnik makes when he's excited about technology here without knowing it. Love your channel, man. Oddware, Thrifts, food, box openings. Keep it up. People who have a rough time in Autumn like I and my brother do are helped by having your videos to come back to. Thank you. :)

That watch is definitely oddware. Or more aptly, "oddwear" - seems like a neat little device!

19:30 brought back some serious nostalgia! I remember loading up the ST Tour on my brand new ST in the 80s! Great video.

When I saw the X-Wing and TIE Fighter game boxes, I became very nostalgic. I will remember those games very fondly. And those limited run boxes really looks good, wish I had those.

I'm half an hour in and I absolutely must know what that "Disc Cleaner" does.

I'm wondering if it's one of those programs to clear programs off of your hard drive, not to physically clean the floppy drive...
@fonkbadonk2957
@fonkbadonk2957 3 жыл бұрын
@@AndrewAMartin Well, it DOES day "disk cleaner", not "cleaning disk", the latter being what I'd expect from a disk that cleans your drive. Thus I assume you're right, and this is just a delete tool, possibly with random overwrite features to render undelete methods useless.

@@fonkbadonk2957 Disc* LOL... Check out the LGR Blerb on it, turns out there were 'dry' cleaning diskettes that didn't rely on cleaning fluid. I don't think I ever used either product, tbh...

I'm guessing that if you will rotate that floppy cleaner disk there will be a micro brush glued to it somewhere, like on those old cleaning CD's edit: check the new Blerb he made, it's just a placebo disk that does nothing

Thank you, Clint, for a brilliantly chilled video after a long, stressful week. I had a similar Timex watch back in the day. It was built like a brick and quite huge for my rather slim wrist. Sync worked with CRTs only (although there was an LED thingie available as an extra for LCD screen users). The watch was quite lovely but I was annoyed by it having space for a single "app" only - so either a stopwatch or a timer, but not both. Still very fondly remembered after roughly two dacades. Thanks again, Clint!

Years ago, I tried to set up a dial up BBS just for vintage computer systems, for email and software exchange. When it came time to promote and throw money into a phone system, i chickened out.

So nice to have content like this that isn't pushing politics or gloating with elitism. Guy with interesting stuff making content about it and not rubbing it in the face of viewers that he is and can do it is unfortunately rare.
