Having grown up in an era when James Blunt songs were popular, and signing them so intently due to their popularity rather than substance, to growing older and understanding the lyrics and the meaning behind them and learning to regard them in an entirely new light, i cannot help but listen to listen to more and more interviews with this man and treasure him for everything he is - A soldier, a musician, a father, a husband, a son and a truly decent human being who i wish more and more success upon with every adventure he brings us on. Remember James, never accept criticism from someone from whom you would not accept advice.

Not really a fan of James Blunt but always respected him. His humour is super smart and his last comment to James reflects that in spades - this interview was about James Blunt rather than a vehicle for the interviewer - so we can thank James O'Brien for that.

For no particular reason I have never found myself to be a fan of James.O' Brien. I tuned in because of James Blunt. However, I have toi say this was a brilliantly conducted interview. Knowledgeable, thoughtful, respectful. Subtley coherent, in it's alllowence for james to speak freely whilst keep to it's objectives. Especially when gently trying to breakthrough Jame's self deprecation in an effort for him to take credit for who he is and what he has achieved. No mean feat. Beautiful. Thank you :)

2 of my favorite people in the world, I wish James Blunt would talk more about his military service and the fate of many veterans who experience struggles when returning into society. And I will never get the haters of the You are beautiful song, if you do not like it move on.

Great interview and I was thinking about what James says about conviction, knowing that you’ve got something valuable to say and being confident about it. It's a scary world we live in. Almost everyone is scraping by, and and working hard just o survive. A lot people seem to have this bitterness towards anyone who they think has an advantage over them; be it looks, intelligence, or social status. It angers them that life is so unfair. But it's not anyone's fault that they were born pretty, or smart, or into a well-to-do family. It's a scary world, so why shouldn't they use every tool they have to survive? If you really have to judge someone, then judge their character and what they bring into the world. Are they caring human beings? Knocking someone down because they're born with an advantage isn't going to help you. Honestly, even if they give you their job, you wouldn't be able to do it. The kind of person who could pull it off, wouldn't be complaining about other hard working human beings.
@ChiLou16 ай бұрын
Exactly! Well said! Roughly 1% of all talented musicians managed to become successful with it. James has achieved that through his enormous talent. His family is from military background. They had no connections in the music industry so James had to work really hard to achieve his dreams and he did. Musicians like Taylor Swift were also born really privileged and had way more support but no one is bothered by that so why are they hating on James? There is a saying that goes: No one that has achieved more than you will ever put you down. All the haters are just jealous of him. And even if his family had an influence, so what? No one decides what family they were born into.

Thank you for this inside interview, but - one question is still left and unanswered: James, where the heck is your wedding ring? If you love and appreciate your wife and marriage, you would proudly wear you wedding ring, wouldn't you?! Greetings 💍
@ChiLou16 ай бұрын
My parents don’t wear their wedding rings all the time because they don’t want them to get damaged, stolen whatsoever. They still love each other and don’t need a ring to confirm that. Most wedded couples don’t wear their ring anymore after multiple years of marriage on a daily basis.
@Ellinor_Breitig5 ай бұрын
@@ChiLou1 Dear CLW5537, Um, well, I do understand what you wanna tell me. Um, I think those wedding rings are an important kind of symbol of the neverending love between husband and wife. Otherwise all those rings would not have been necessary to being put on each others finger, would they? To wear the wedding ring in public show others: - Yes, I am married to someone (therefore I belong to someone else, please don't fancy me or start to flirt with me) - I cherish my marriage and I love my partner no matter what - there is a strong bonding between two people If I was married to someone I would proudly wear this wedding ring to show everybody "I belong to someone, I love this person, don't bother me with flirting etc." Greetings from the land of the unmarried.

@2cent6309 ай бұрын
He was often asked about his military service, and he talks about it often. He just doesn't talk about the inhumane atrocities he's witnessed. As a human being, I can see why he wouldn't want to use those stories when he was in an interview trying to promote his album. He was born into a privileged life. What was handed to him was not getting to spend much time with his family. He was handed owing service to the military in a hot war, where he was in the lead vehicles that would have been the first ones to get blown up through a minefield. He was handed a military family that had no connections with anyone in the music industry. Whatever connections he has made was because people liked him. He's a likeable human being.
